Annual membership charge $39.95 for a frozen account that has been frozen for over a year. Closing the account and not getting refunded $39.95. The whole closing the account process is a back and forth email with a manager named Michael. Just close my account and refund the annual whatever charge for services that were never used. Period. Folks, be careful with your money here never saw anything like this. I am member at ballys gym which is now LA Fitness and this was a membership for my son this place is unbelievableā¦..theft of funds for NO SERVICE
Update 9/21/22 got to add this you wont believe it. The Manager Michael never closed the account. After my first interaction with him I called my bank (Chase) and told them to stop any future payment if they try to charge me. Chase can not stop previous payments but they can stop future payments. A few months after I told Michael to close the account my son received a bill in the mail for a few months not paid after I told Michael to close the account. I had to call the billing service which is a billing service for not only golds but for other similar gyms. Worst interaction, went back and forth a few times and was eventually told that it went to collections and that I would be assigned a case # and to contact them. My son received a collection notice and he noticed that his credit score was affected negatively a few points. I called the collection agency and they needed the emails stating that I requested the account closed which I sent them and I never heard anything else thereafter. This all happened if I remember correctly, the request to close the account 2021 spring/summer during covid and going to collections around January or February 2022. Really! this all happened. Go to LA Fitness and send LA Fitness corporate a email to open more locations on Long Island. There are Multiple locations on the Island just not enough. And as a bonus they are located in multiple states. I went to a location in Georgia for a week when I had to go there for...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSo heres my story...My name is Mike and I am 43 years old. Even though I had a heavy lifting, physical job I was overweight at 195 with a gut. I said I would never have an gut and thought I would always have a great physique. I saw the Middle island Golds Gym advertisement about the early registration savings. I came down and signed up due to convenience being only 2 minutesfrom my house. It felt like forever waiting for them to open up so because of my impatience I decided to start at the Islip location. So here is were it gets good. I signed up for personal training sessions and they introduced me to Billy Richards......by far the best thing that ever happened to me. Billy motivated me in such a way that I now travel 35 minutes to the Islip location instead of the 2 minute drive to Middle Island. Dont get me wrong....the Middle Island location is awesome as well and I spend at lot of time there. Billys drive and determination in his personal training life has extended to my personal training experience. He has taken the time to know what I want and pushes me just past my personal expectations. If it wasn't for him I would have never have come as far as I have in the past three months. I have lost over 25 lbs with about 15 lbs being body fat. I am shredded beyond where I'd ever imagine I would be. At 43 I am concerned about getting hurt. Billy has a way of pushing me to my limit, motivating me to stay focused, and make me feel completly safe with him standing behind me. WHAT AN AWESOME FEELING. I would not trade this experience for anything in the world. Hopefully you will read this Billy...I look foward to training with you as long as I am able to. Thank you for motivating me and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI signed up to golds gym because of the size of the gym. I am extremely disappointed with the staff at this gym. I show up to cancel my membership in November at 6 pm one day and the employee at the front told me I need to come in between 7am- noon to cancel. Extremely weird rule. I call and explain to someone a week later that I work those hours and canāt come in to cancel. They tell me theyāll speak to the manager and cancel. Never gets cancelled. I get charged in december again and finally go in to cancel in January, the guy tells me the manager isnāt here and to come back. I call the next day and the employee was extremely rude so I asked for his name and he gave me a fake name and hung up. I come in the next day and speak to John the manager, he tells me heās going to handle it and he will speak to his boss, he writes down my name and number and email and 2 weeks go by and NOTHING. I go in today and his boss has no idea what Iām talking about, not to mention ⦠John is acting clueless, going through his notes like āhmm got nothingā like absolutely unbelievable. John should definitely work on his...
