In retrospect, I wish I just walked out. I brought a vehicle for an allignment, the mechanic said they needed to order parts. I asked if I could get the parts bc they overcharge for theirs. They said sure. I bring my rig back for an allignment with the parts, I even called that day to let them know I was coming. There was an old lady working now who was angry with me that I brought my own parts. I told her the mechanic said it was ok, but she continued with her belligerence. I questioned the mechanic about her drama, he brushed it off and said he ordered the parts but can still use mine, he said he would take care of the old lady. If they had to use their parts, then he could have said so, I wouldnt have bothered buying them. He then finished the allignment so fast, I questioned that. I had also requested they check the tires and grease fittings. The belligerent old lady who allegedly owns the place is a real pig. She attempted to overcharge my card without my consent. She picked fights with me when I told her the mechanic and I already had a deal that was discussed, I had to tell her several times I wasnt going to argue with her. When I got home I examined my rig, I saw the rear tire has a huge bald spot, the wires starting to show. I took a pic. I mean, I just left a tire center, they let me leave to drive home on a bad tire. Bad tire shop! If you do go there, make sure you get everything in writi g up front, and watch that they actually...
Read moreHartje Tire and Auto Service Center is simply a 5-Star company through and through. Shea and Glenda are a joy to work with, and their honest, friendly, and helpful customer service always assures me that what needs repaired on my vehicles actually needs repaired. Furthermore, if a repair is not necessary (but recommended), Shea and Glenda have a way of sharing the details in a way that does NOT add pressure to my decision. In my most recent visit to Hartjes, one of their mechanics – Mike – personally called me to discuss his recommendation to have my power steering hoses changed in addition to the rack and pinion steering, which was the original repair I went to Hartjes for. I knew the seals were bad on the rack and were leaking significantly, and with 22-year-old hoses that I was certain were in rough shape and leaking too, Mike called to explain he would strongly recommend having the hoses replaced while he had easy access to changing them. It was apparent that Hartjes only charged me additional labor for changing the hoses based on the fact that Mike had easy access to them while installing the new rack. I can only imagine the temptation for a company to add together all the repairs as though they were stand-alone repairs and then charge you accordingly, but that’s not how Hartjes rolls. You can trust Hartjes. Period. I am super pleased with Hartjes and am convinced they are indeed a 5-Star Tire and Auto...
Read moreWent to hartje to have my tire fixed because it kept leaking air. They end up replacing 3 lug nuts, fixing a hole in my tire, and replacing my back two low tire pressure sensors. I was instructed to tighten all lug nuts after driving 50-100 miles after that. 60 miles after this (about 4 days) I go to tighten my lug nuts and they are completely stripped out. They are so warped I can’t even fit the lug nut wrench on them without tapping it in with a hammer. The next day I notice a scraping/ banging noise coming from my tire, sounds like a can dragging on the ground. I look and my dust guard behind my tire is completely loose and dangling creating an awful noise every time i drive. This was not like this before my appointment. On top of that, my low tire pressure light turned on again after 6 days!!!! 6!! My sensors are also under warranty so at this point I am just being ignored and dodged. I was so upset but was willing to Try to talk to them and make things right. I call and leave voicemails with no response or acknowledgment. What a waste of 200$. Will never be...
