Lakewood SuperValu — Local services in Town of Lakewood

I’ve shopped here for years during the summer months. It’s high priced but the closest grocery store to my residence. I’ve had some issues over the years such as spoiled chicken, milk that turns sour a week before the expiration date, items that do not come up with the correct price, expired items and even a small piece of glass in a package of chicken.

Today though was the icing on the cake… I purchased a single lime that was $.69 . I normally watch my items being rung up but was busy placing items in my cart. I was shocked when my groceries totaled $177.61. Upon arriving home I went over my receipt and discovered I was charged for 91 limes totaling $62.19 ! I also found another sale item that rang up wrong well over the sale price.

I called the store and asked for the manager. I spoke to “ Alicia” who advised that she was the assistant manager and could help me. I explained the situation and told her I was 45 minutes from the store and asked her to credit my card. She refused and said I would have to come back to the store. I told her that I wasn’t planning on being in the Lakewood area anytime soon, but it looks like I didn’t have a choice and informed her that this was an error on their part not mine! Alisha didn’t seem to care about my time, gas, etc.

So beware when shopping here and make sure you watch your items being rung up and double check your receipt.

Time to find another store to purchase my groceries.

And just for info Alicia, this poor review could have been easily avoided if you had made the correct decision and gave me my credit instead of telling me it was a “security issue “.

We just moved up here a few months ago and we have been to this store a bunch of times as it's the only one near us. Tonight we bought a Sara Lee Cheesecake and #1 it had no Graham cracker crust which is not the stores fault but I'm wondering did they know about the missing crust as they had them for 5.99 on sale and 10.29 original price . So we started looking on box for sara lee complaints and we see the cheesecake sell by date was last week. So they are selling products that should be taken off shelves....

Bakery has gotten so bad the past 2 years. Went last Saturday morning for Fresh Persians, Amish Donuts, or Pecan Rolls. Nothing like them in the showcase??? Got a Long John with White Frosting & Peanuts. Had to scrape frosting off the sides. Custard filled Donut had choc. frosting on an inch thick on top & sides??? Couldn't even eat it. Am going to go to Mike's in Townsend. Heard they have good Bakery & much better prices??? Nothing to lose because Lakewood has gotten...
