Ulster Firearms — Local services in Town of Marlborough

Not new to guns, but new to the AR-15 platform. This is what I went to UF for, on the recommendation​s of my cousin and a patient of mine.

In short, Ulster firearms is a clean and well-kept​ store, quality selection of AR-15's, handguns​, a few self-defense​​ shotguns, and whatever​ else you need to get your gun(s) squared away (and ammo of course).

I had the pleasure of being helped by Ryan (the owner). I explained​ what I wanted my 1st AR-15 for and a couple of hours later (at least), I drove home​ with my new rifle. Ryan is not your quintessential​ salesman​, at no time did I feel pressured, all my questions (and then some) were​ thoroughly​ answered. He could have easily sent me home with at least $500 in functional accessories for my rifle; but instead of upselling me, he encouraged​ me to become familiar with my rifle in its ​more basic state and then come back for add ons with a more experienced​/educated perspective​. I like to learn, and the more relevant​ information I can acquire​​ the better, and Ryal delivered.

After spending at least two hours with Ryan, I honestly feel that if I walked out of there without​ making a purchase​, he wouldn't have given me any attitude. He was genuinely​ happy to share his knowledge and what the shop had to offer, no strings attached.

I visited Ulster Firearms with my buddy and his wife today. Both of them are very new to owning firearms. They have been to other sporting good stores and firearms stores without making purchases because of the way they were treated.

The experience that they had today was like no other. Ryan treated my two friends with respect, courtesy and patience. He did not make them feel stupid for not knowing anything about guns.

We actually spent a significant amount of time trying out what was comfortable for her. We looked at four individual firearms. She began to get a little overwhelmed with all of the information so Ryan slowed things down and said take your time. Because of how well they were treated they spent a good chunk of money on what worked for her and they are very happy.

Ryan, if you are reading this, we all intend on living in Tennessee within the next year. When we come up to New York to visit our families which are all an hour away from you, we will still be making the drive to make purchases with you and only you. To anyone else reading this, consider how strong that statement is with the price of gas.

If you are new to gun ownership and you aren’t sure where to start, then this is the place for you. The owner, Ryan, went out of his way to explain things to me and also answered any questions I had. He makes you feel welcome and even if you think you may be asking a stupid question, he absolutely takes that feeling away when he answers your question. I was honestly surprised to get that level of hands on customer service. To top it off Ryan even hooked me up with a certified firearms instructor so that I could learn proper safety and mechanics from the beginning, the right way. I bought my first ever firearm there and this is the only place I will purchase a firearm in the future. There is something to be said about a business with good customer service in these times when customer service as a whole is going downhill. And you get to support a local business at the same time. The other staff there are also very helpful and knowledgeable and not even the slightest bit pushy. Even when the place was packed with people. This is a class A business.
