A first time repair on a 14 yr old Frigidaire, stackable washer/dryer forced us to look through the many listings online. With some uncertainty, we chose a business close to our home in Lodi WI. No exaggeration, it was the perfect experience. Rick, from Appliance Service Unlimited, arrived at our home, on time as scheduled. His personality was warm and inviting. We answered a few of his questions, to help him diagnose the trouble, and without hesitation, given his 35 yrs of appliance repair history, problem solved. As he disassembled the machine, he kindly spoke up, "I believe this belt is in the truck". As he worked to make the needed repairs, he commented on our machine, how well it had been built, and why repairs on this model were somewhat simple and less costly to make. We spoke together for a moment, as we shared our appreciation for his honesty, experience and thoroughness. He produced a statement for his time, his experience and materials, happily paid in full! It is heartwarming to find such an appliance repair company and an individual in the appliance repair services, that is not only in the field making the repairs, but sharing his knowledge and experience, we were informed, with others through many different...
Read moreI have a 10 year old KitchenAid built in refrigerator that I recently moved to the basement. During the move, a small amount of water got into the auger motor area of the ice maker. Once I plugged in and started running the refrigerator, the water froze and pulled two wires from the wire connector. Unfortunately I didn't call Appliance Service Unlimited (I called a competitor). The competitor came out and wasn't able to perform the simple fix I was expecting but rather wanted to charge more than $1100 for a new door. I ended up paying nearly $200 for the service call. Then he told me the replacement door was no longer available and that I would have to but a new refrigerator ($10,000). There is no common sense in this solution. It's a secondary refrigerator that just needs a couple of wires repaired.
Then I called Appliance Service Unlimited and they were able to talk me through a simple fix that took 5 minutes for me to accomplish. I offered to pay for the technician's time but he wouldn't take any $$. Do yourself a favor and use Appliance Service Unlimited instead of some of these others that are just "parts changers" instead of technicians with...

I had already troubleshoot the issue with our dishwasher and provided all details and error codes when scheduling the appointment for their technician to come and verify and order the replacement motor. Their technician showed up, played on his phone for 5 minutes, said he needed to call someone and disappeared for a few minutes. Once he finally came back inside he turned on the dishwasher, peeked inside and said the arms aren't spinning and the vario motor would need replacement (exactly what I told them on my schedulig call). After being told I'm looking at an almost $400 bill, minimum, for a $25 motor replacement I decided to cancel their follow up. I then received an invoice for trip charge and "labor". The technician was at my house 17 minutes and I was invoiced for almost $140 for him to open the door and say the motor needed to be replaced, which was the entire reason I called in the first place.
Based on their more recent reviews it seems as though lack of knowledge and billing for inexperience is their new way of doing business. I'd suggest looking elsewhere before they...
