I was in the market for a nice used car. Was looking for Van or SUV. I had a very specific price range I wanted to stay in so I had to be very particular. I was working with Nate and Scott. I told them what I wanted and they did try to get what I wanted there for me to see and drive. Eventually I found a Envoy Denali that gave my wife and I all the options and room we wanted and it was in our price range. So we acted quickly and they brought it in for quickly. We were very pleased! When I test drove it Nate went on and on about there intense and detailed inspection process. I noticed after driving it that a fog light and a rear back up light was out. Made them aware of it and he said it would be taken care of. The next day they came and picked up my wife and brought her to get the car and finish the paper work. I asked my wife to make sure the lights were being fixed. My salesman replaced the front bulb but then told me that it was a bad socket on the back of the car and that I could just buy the part and replace it. It would be much cheaper for me to do it myself instead of the dealership doing it. I was not happy but my wife brought the car home. I was still very happy!! The next day I leave to go to work and it barely starts and then there is a loud knocking noise from the rear of the car. It did stop after a minute or so. I called to let Nate know right away. He gave me somethings to check. I checked on them and got back to him. He explained what it might be and had me bring it in. it ended up being an issue with something needing to calibrated again after a fuse or battery was replaced, but in the process we found that the fan for the rear heat was not working at all!! I have young kids so this was a huge deal. So they kept the car to do other tests and check the battery. This was on a Saturday, they kept it over the weekend for a tech to look at it Monday. Got a call on Tuesday that everything was fixed. They said they replaced the battery, replaced the socket, then I asked about the heater in the back. The tech (Dan) told me that he hadn't received approval to have that fixed. I asked to speak with Nate, he was busy so i left a message. I didn't hear back from him until after I sent and email to Tony the gm threatening to return the car and cancel the whole thing unless this was fixed. Then Nate called me to say they were fixing it. So 2 weeks into owning my car I had only driven it twice. They finally called to say it was all done and I could pick it up. I asked since I had tons of issues if they could fill my car with gas. Both Nate, and Scott said it would be taken care of. Which I appreciate since it was supposed to snow like crazy that night and I would have my kids. I just wanted to jump in and get home so i could try and miss the storm. I get there to pick it up and there is ZERO gas in the car. I get my kids loaded up and start to drive across the street to get gas. Mind you at this point there is 6+ inches of snow on the ground. I actually ran out of gas pulling into the gas station. Thank god i was able to coast into the pump. I got gas and then drove home. After all this I received an email from Dan the Tech, Nate and the GM asking if I was satisfied. I was not and I made them aware of that. Well I got a call from the Sales Manager asking me to call him back. So i emailed him and called... go figure never got a call back. I then emailed and called Tony... wow go figure no call or email back. Then I got an email asking me to please share my positive experience and leave a review. The only positive part was them getting what I want there and oh giving my kids each a balloon while they ran our credit work. Other than that what a joke. Since then I have successfully steered multiple people away from buying from this dealership. AVOID THIS PLACE!! I BET NOW THAT I LEAVE THIS REVIEW MAYBE THE GM WILL WANNA CALL ME NOW. CLASSLESS PLACE AND HORRIBLE SERVICE ONCE YOU START TO CALL THEM OUT FOR...

I left a really good review for this dealership on December 14th 2023. Robbie in sales, was ADAMANT on me leaving a good review so that he could get some extra PTO during the holidays. And I wholeheartedly take back absolutely every single word I said about this place. I have had nothing but ISSUES with this vehicle. Less than a month after getting this vehicle, the blower motor went out in it and started SMOKING. They wanted to charge me over $600 for this the part was only $140 and luckily my significant other changed it for me. A few weeks later my car is shifting like it shouldn’t. It was jerking and sputtering. I took it in and they told me I needed a brand new Torque converter. Which was going to cost me over $4,000. That’s right. FOUR THOUSAND DOLLARS. They brought me my estimate. Then went back for another estimate and actually ended up charging me an extra $500 due to TAXES AND THE USE OF THEIR TOOLS. I took my vehicle elsewhere and come to find out, my transmission just needed flushed. Lucky enough the person who changed it for me and checked me vehicle over. Flushed it twice for me. Only cost me $600. Much better than $4k. Not to mention they never changed the transmission fluid, filter or my air filter. This I know because of the shop who fixed these things for me. The dealership gave me the option of putting me in a different vehicle or dropping the price down $500 out of $4100 for the torque converter. Which would make no sense since they changed my estimate and upped it $500 for their tools and taxes. They couldn’t assure me that the vehicle they’d be getting me would stay the same price monthly or even the total price. My vehicle did NOT need a new torque converter. They never offered to change my fluid or any of the sorts. When I spoke to Mike , the manager in the service department. He told me they DONT check your transmission fluid until 100,000 miles. My vehicle only had 62,000 on it. Jordan in the service department told me they check it at 50-60 thousand. Funny how the manager doesn’t even know what he’s talking about but his staff seem to. The fluid was BONE DRY and somehow when I brought it in. They said it was full. But when we checked it. It had a drop in it and it was BLACK. I ended up adding 1 quart to it while I was over 100 miles from home just so I could get home. They absolutely tried to take advantage of me and quite frankly did in the beginning. I would never ever buy a vehicle from this place again and I will steer everyone away from them. While having them check on my vehicle I was extremely disappointed when Robbie threw in my face multiple times that I had the option to get a warranty on the vehicle, which was an extra $3500 on top of the $23k I gave them for the vehicle. It’s the fact that I shouldn’t have needed anything fixed in LESS THAN 3 MONTHS of having the vehicle. I have never bought from a dealership and this was the worst first experience at a dealership EVER. Stay...
Read moreI purchased a 2016 Ford Explorer from Ryan Alexander at Alphorn Ford in March of 2025. I started having problems with it 1 month after purchase and it was in and out of the shop due to the check engine light coming on repeatedly. Initially, I wasn't too upset about this as I am aware that used cars aren't perfect. However, at the end of June (3 months after purchase) the car would not start. I had it towed to a mechanic who said the timing chain had slipped and bent the valves and the engine had absolutely no compression. Given the damage and value of the vehicle, the mechanic is not recommending repair/replacement of the engine.
While there is no way to know if the dealership was aware of this issue before they sold it to me and I did not buy a warranty, I was hoping they would take some responsibility. I reached out to Ryan to let him know about the situation, hoping he could help. After 7 weeks of calling/emailing nearly every day, I couldn't get anything more than a "we'll get back to you" or "we're working on it". Only after writing a review did Eric Meyers (sales manager?) reach out to me. He offered to trade in my vehicle for something else with a warranty attached. While I appreciate him contacting me, I explained that this solution does not work for me as I cannot afford to have an additional loan with my previous one rolled in, nor do I have the money to purchase a warranty. Additionally, I am not comfortable purchasing another vehicle from Alphorn Ford given my experience. I explained I would like for Alphorn Ford to cover the remaining balance of my vehicle loan. Eric told me there is nothing else he can do to help me. I requested to speak to someone else, and he told me Kevin Hoyt would be calling me on 9/5. Kevin did not call me, I have tried calling and emailing him with no luck.
This whole situation is devastating. I have been without a car for 2.5 months and have an $11,000 auto loan on a vehicle I can't drive. I cannot accept a "solution" that involves spending more money. I currently live in Colorado, and my dad is in hospice in Wisconsin. I can't make it home to see him and the rest of my family without a vehicle. My dog is also very ill, and every spare penny I have goes to his vet bills. When selling me the vehicle, Ryan bragged about how much money he makes, and good for him, I'm sure he has worked hard to get to where he is. However, it deeply saddens me to know that a portion of his paycheck comes at the expense of someone like me. I am just a regular person--I work hard and live paycheck to paycheck. I just want to move on from...
