Twining Park — Attraction in Monroe

As a child, I used to spend my days in this fair park, ever keeping my youthful eyes peeled for small critters, such as frogs, squirrels, and bunnies. (I did not yet know of that one lizard that would change my life) In a way, you could say that this park turned me into the rambunctious explorer I am today. Twining Park has July 4th festivies - food, sports competitions, kids games & more during the day and fireworks it dusk. There are is a toddler playground and also one for older children, tennis and basketball courts, baseball/softball diamonds, 18 hole disc golf course, horseshoe pits, and a soccer practice field. Three shelters with restrooms, a bandshell and a trail are also located in the park. There is exercise equioment and a cross country ski trail. Entrance is located by the Badger State Trail...

This is a great open space park to have a disc golf course on! There are old trees & technical fairways that demand different types of throws to get the birdie. It rained while I was there, but I just sat under the tree canopy & waited until it stopped. The pavilion was being used for a family picnic & kids were playing in the splash pool...great park!
