American Legion — Local services in Town of Monroe

One of the nicer legions in the area. There is handicapped parking and a ramp entrance still I'm sure. Bathrooms inside and handicapped accessible. The var inside has accommodations for handicapped and allows service pets. It's for the community in the area but has local special events like a pig roast and has had a comedy night and other things. Great for Veterans and other locals to sit have a drink and talk. They also have karaoke nights. You can rent the hall for birthdays or special events for an affordable cost! It's right on the lake also and has a nice big outdoor porch! Back has an open cooking area and horse shoe throws in sand pits. Great for a family reunion just gotta rent it. Whole back is fenced in so safe and has large parking area for many cars! The establishment is nice but it needs to be updated. How in 2024, post covid, do you not have a baby changing table at least in the handicap restroom is beyond me. It was pouring rain during my friends father's memorial and I parked up the hill so couldn't go to my car... many with children just left when they realized this. 😳 I also couldn't excuse ourselves without interrupting the service, because the only route is cutting through the side deck which isn't covered and again it was pouring rain. The lady was very annoying and she made us all breakdown everything but I don’t understand how that was our problem. That’s unacceptable if you ask me. Every other VFW or American Legion I’ve been too I never had to breakdown furniture. Is there not a liability if someone gets hurt moving furniture? Also they didn’t turn on the heat and it’s freezing inside and outside. The guy said it’s too expensive to turn the heat on.
