No customer service and I was sold an old broken product.
I purchased an Anderson 3000 Storm Door from this location. I’m not a contractor and I have limited experience with installing doors so I hired a contractor. The contractor installed the storm door the other day and unfortunately waited until it was mostly installed to let me know it came with a broken pneumatic closer and no top plate for the frame. I looked up the serial number on the door which showed it was an old model that stopped being produced in 2014. I went to this location, which is where I purchased it, with pictures and a receipt with hope of some resolution. Customer service manager stated they cannot issue any refund without the door. I explained it seems hard to believe that Home Depot never has issues with products after install and there should be a way to resolve it. The manager refused to look at the pictures and proof that it was an old door that I bought. There was zero apology given that this happened. After several minutes of trying to find a reasonable resolution, I asked if I were to uninstall the product and bring it in if I would be given a refund. The manager then backtracked and said it still would not be good enough as it is now damaged. I explained that it was sold to me damaged, which was the whole issue. Still no apology given or compensation offered. He said if I want to buy something now he could give a discount (probably some small employee discount that is unrelated.) As if I would want to buy anything from here after dealing with this.
This Home Depot scammed me and put in zero effort the make it look like they even cared. I will never be shopping at Home Depot again, unless I need Windex or something like that. Even the Windex they are selling is probably just water with blue dye added. Would give 0...
Read moreHuge shout out to Henry Timmons in Millwork at the Mt Pleasant store!! He was unfailing courteous and extremely helpful! (I KNOW -such an anomaly at Home Depot!) I need a new front door and he walked me through all the steps; was very patient when I misremembered the manufacturer of the door I wanted, and explained the process of getting a quote on installation and printed me a copy of everything --AND he explained that it might be possible to have the installer build out my jamb by 1/2 inch thus saving me $300 for a custom door.
THEN 2 weeks later after I got the door measured by the installer and the quote for installation AND found that somehow after a round of emails they ordered me the custom door and the installation was ~ $300 more than I had thought. Needless to say I immediately tried to contact them by phone which was a complete exercise in futility! [Just DON'T attempt to call him or ANYONE at the store --it simply doesn't work - you go around in a loop forever! ] Anyway I decided the only solution was to go back to the store and speak to them directly. AND fortunately I arrived at ~2:30pm - Henry was there (he had just come onto his shift) AND he wasn't busy!! He spent literally an hour with me going over all the charges, explaining the extra installation costs; he called the installer for me and explained that not getting the custom door would save me $300 and they agreed and explained they would just need me to get a $40 external door jamb kit. So Henry fixed my order: he removed the custom door, had me order the online standard door and gave me a bunch of discounts on the other supplies so that I ended up saving another $100! He is a prince! I have never had a nicer and more helpful interchange with a store employee! Seriously they should double his pay!! Thank you so...
Read moreExtremely Poor Rental Experience – Zero Stars
This was the worst rental experience I’ve ever had, and I feel compelled to warn other customers.
Initial Service Issues: The rental employee was unkempt, unhygienic, and completely unprofessional. He lacked basic knowledge of the inventory or rental procedures.
Equipment Mix-Up and Dishonesty: Despite my confirmed reservation, he insisted the camera was unavailable and tried to substitute unrelated plumbing equipment, saying, “it’s the only thing I have that looks like a camera.” He then blamed a supposed “system glitch” which is what he said the manager told him and management confirmed to him nothing could be done.
Management Revealed the Truth: When I escalated, the manager (Mario) confirmed the employee never called him. The reserved camera was in stock the entire time. It was literally hanging on the wall behind the employee.
No Accountability: The employee never apologized for lying, wasting my time, or refusing to provide service. Mario acknowledged the problem but offered no solution, no remedy, and no accountability. Mario gave a quick “sorry” and walked away, leaving the employee unchecked for blatant dishonesty and negligence.
Final Recommendation: A reservation system is worthless if staff can’t be trusted to do their job honestly. This employee lied, misled, and attempted to push me into renting the wrong equipment rather than take minimal effort to locate the correct one. Management’s lack of accountability only compounded the failure.
What should have been a simple rental turned into a display of incompetence, deceit, and disregard for customers. Avoid this rental department entirely, I would not...
