Lake Success Golf Club, located in Lake Success, New York, was founded in 1956 when the Village of Lake Success acquired 116 acres of the former Deepdale Golf Club, which had been bisected by the construction of the Long Island Expressway. The village purchased the property through condemnation and transformed it into a public golf course for residents. The course, originally designed by A.W. Tillinghast, was redesigned by architect Tripp Davis and opened as an 18-hole, par-70 layout. The clubhouse, built in 1925â26 by the architectural firm Warren & Wetmore, remains from the Deepdale era and is noted for its Spanish-style design. Over the years, the club has undergone significant improvements, including a $20 million investment in a new clubhouse, pro shop, drainage, and irrigation systems. Today, Lake Success Golf Club offers a challenging course with tree-lined fairways, multiple water hazards, and undulating greens, providing an exceptional golfing experience for players of all skill levels. Iâve never played Lake Success Golf Clubâbut if I did, I would definitely add...
Read moreExcellent track! Apologies for the late review, but it's better late than never!
Played well enough and was a champion (via play-off, Birdie chip-in on first playoff hole) in division 4 last 05/22/2023 as part of my golf league's summer tourney.
Hole # 1 (Sudden death play-off): First shot: 3 Wood drive landed short of the right side fairway bunker, 236 yards away from the pin. Second shot: 7 iron pulled left to the left side rough, about 100 yards away. Third shot: Wedge was mishit again, thin shot that came out hot. I was fortunate that the ball hit a tree branch about 50 yards from the front of the green and ricochet straight down onto the apron, exactly 31 yards / 93 feet away from the pin. Fourth shot: 9 iron was a perfect chip shot exactly 31 yards / 93 feet away from the pin that rolled into the hole for a Birdie that clinched the win!
BTW, shout-out to the superintendent and grounds crew for keeping the course in tip-top condition and also for providing me with a pin flag as my memento from this...
Read moreI first visited here when I was looking for a wedding venue and was really impressed with the scenery of the grounds. However, it couldn't accommodate the number of guests we wanted so we ultimately decided on another venue. There was always some lingering thoughts of what if... That all changed when I went there for a graduation dinner recently.
What was good: Venue was still well kept. Staff was very attentive. Cocktails and sangria was delicious!
What was bad: Bland food. Everything had no taste. Chairs were dirty and had a sticky feel, something similar to feeling in a kitchen when you've cooked with oil. Bathrooms lacked paper towels.
I had high hopes and was really excited to experience the venue I couldn't choose and came away disappointed. The other venue I went to wined and dined us to demonstrate how good their food was, and it...
