Tappan Golf Center — Local services in Town of Orangetown

Tappan golf center is a large complex that, as you may have guessed, mainly serves the golfing community. The facilities include a two story driving range, a pro shop, miniature golf, indoor batting cages, go-karts, and a bar. I go to the driving range or batting cage.

While the driving range is usually busy, it never seems crowded because the second floor adds ample stalls. I never feel crowded although I've never seen less than 15 golfers there. Prices are reasonable; I spend $12 on a large bucket, which I believe is around 160 balls. They also offer an early bird special before noon, but I've never been that early, so I don't know what the deal is.

The batting cages are also quite nice. Its one of the large dome style cages, which I like because I can actually see where I've hit the ball. Each cage offers baseball and soft ball and speeds range from 30-70 mph.

I haven't taken advantage of any of the other activities at Tappan Golf Center so I obviously cant review them. I will say the bar looks very nice and the pro shop has a lot of merchandise. The entrance to the facility is very inconvenient because it is not centrally located causing you to walk far out of the way to get from...

The heaters on the ends of this facility are hung far too low for a slightly above average height adult male with a driver. I have never had issues in any of their bays but had to go to the end one day. Immediately hit my driver on heater during backswing and broke driver head. The range attendant started yelling at me when I asked politely to talk to someone in management. When I finally got ahold of management after almost 2 weeks of calling and they are never there. When I finally got ahold of them they say everything is play at your own risk and this has never happened. These heaters have clearly been hit by tons of clubs and yet they have done nothing. Many of the bays no longer have the launch monitors and several screens that are still up are cracked and have issues. Also, the putt putt course is a disaster, the turf has given way to the concrete underneath throughout the course. It is clear to me management is not invested into this facility anymore. I have been going to this place for a very long time. They recently started charging for the Topchaser system that traces your shots. I don’t have a problem with them doing that. The problem is that it doesn’t work. When I went to the front desk to complain and ask for a refund, they refused to acknowledge the problem and would not refund my fee for topchaser. I called later to speak with the manager and was told there is no way to do that. She was rude and dismissing and hung up on me.
