Best Farms supermarket is no upgrade from Best Market supermarket at all. If I could give it a zero stars I would but in order for me to be able to leave a comment I had to leave a "star rating". The prices in this store are tremendously high. The fruit & vegetable produce is merely hours away from rotting and tasting mealy. The meats in this store are NOT packed cleanly & tightly with the plastic wrap AT ALL. The deli department has the deli meats by Boar's Head but NOT one of the employees there knows how to cut cold cuts in a tissue paper thin type of slice. I must have asked most of the deli employees several times & politely to cut my deli meats & cheeses thin. But no ALL the deli employees that work in that department are busy gossiping NONSTOP and NOT paying attention to how they slice the meats and cheeses AT ALL. The worst department out of all the departments in this store is the bakery department. I went to this store last weekend to pick up a pumpkin pie and an apple pie and other baked goods and I COULD NOT find any decent bakery items that wasn't delivered to this horrible store that was ALL PREPACKAGED. have looked high and low for freshly made pies, cakes & cupcakes that the old store did use make & did sell. I DID NOT FIND ONE PIE OR ONE CAKE for my Thanksgiving celebration. What kind of horrible supermarket NOT have any cakes or pies. This store use to sell mini cakes, mini eclairs, mini pastries in individual containers, they even had a freezer case section with all the freshly made pies, frosted 6 pack cupcakes the bakery use to make for holidays DAYS IN ADVANCE and even mini little cakes in there. Big deal the renovations to the store it look cleaner, more sterile and more bare of food items that I need, look for & use to buy from the previous supermarket. The last thing I'd like to mention is the cashiers I understand that cashiers are human beings too and can have a bad day and all BUT I really did have a problem with one of your very nasty cashiers and her name is Marie or Maria. Maria feels like it’s too much trouble for her to ring up customers or do a price check for a senior customer like myself WHILE ROLLING HER EYES AT ME. She kept staring at her phone to see how much longer before she could get to leave work. She needs an attitude adjustment if customers are inconveniencing her and shaving 5 seconds out of her life for a price check without her having the need to roll her eyes at me. I get it's the holidays but Maria acted like I asked her to donate a kidney to me, I only asked for a price check. Thank you so much Best Farms for destroying my shopping experience by renovating a smaller spaced store with higher priced items I have no interest in buying. I have to travel to your competitors to buy the stuff I need at a more affordable price. HOW in the world can a 2 month old supermarket NOT have cakes, pies, and frosted cupcakes before major holidays LIKE THANKSGIVING & CHRISTMAS that are NOT PREPACKAGED items from Queens or Brooklyn or wherever else this supermarket gets the stale baked goods shipped from. I understand as customers we have no choice for convenience sake to shop at this supermarket BUT I have seen no improvement or changes made from the old supermarket to this new one. Best Farms supermarket is a dolled up, very high priced supermarket that sells items I have no interest in buying especially from their...
Read moreUPDATE: They seem to have improved over the past year and I haven't had anything major issues. Never had bought fresh pasta again from them but everything else seems fine, I bumped it up from 1 to 3 stars
This was my regular supermarket where I would buy ingredients for dinner about 2-3 times per week. 2 times previously, after it had changed from best market to best farms. I had bought spoiled refrigerated goods. one was Milk and the other was a cheese still within dates. I never complained or anything because stuff happens. Well I just bought "Fresh" stuffed Shells from the Deli area that were fairly pricey at $6.99. They were completely sour in the middle and ruined my dinner cause I spent time making sauce and topped them with fresh mozzarella. I brought them back now made for dinner so they had sauce on them, the lady at the register gave me a big attitude saying "You bought these like this?" I explained that I made them for dinner again. She then doesn't say anything to me ask me to sign a receipt and with a nasty attitude goes "Heres your 6.99 back". I was really surprised, I'm a regular and this is how I get treated? Not even a "Sorry about that" or anything. I doubt this issue with there refrigerated goods will be looked into.
I'm very disappointed because when They took over from Best Market I thought they were making Improvements, the Store is defiantly nicer looking and has a much better selection. there is something seriously wrong with there refrigerated...
Read more1/11/23 My son went to Best farm deli in Hicksville to buy provolone cheese, he ended up coming home without the cheese. I ask home why didn’t you buy provolone cheese? He told me he saw the guy slicing meat and cheese on the same machine. I decided to call the manager who told me her name was (Mina) explain her the whole situation. All she could tell me is that she doesn’t eat meat so if she was at the daily, she would tell them to wash the blade and slice the cheese for her. Like seriously I then told her I think this is so wrong 😳 Then she told me don’t teach me the law😳 I told her I’m not here to teach the law it’s just very upsetting to see what we saw…. She told me I can’t do anything about it. The guy is gone for the day. It literally happened less than five minutes. she was very rude. Sad but she did not even apologize for the whole situation. I don’t think I will be going back to the deli . It’s just very sad to see meat and cheese sliced on the same machine!!!!!! I work the deli department in School and we don’t use the same machine to slice meat, vegetables or cheese. It’s cross contamination! Bottom line is just be careful before you get your cheese...
