Overall I must say itโs a very impressive facility. Ice rink was great, skate rental was quick and easy and the food court was very good. They even had a nice roaring fire to sit by. The only two issues I had were that halfway during a public skating session they cut a quarter of the rink off to skaters to give a private lesson to a child. Never seen that done in 40+ years of skating on LI. We pay to use the whole rink not 3/4s of it. Second thing was that the โrink guards,โ and I use that term loosely here, are not really doing their jobs. The side boards (especially by the hockey team boxes) are cluttered with tweens who basically just stand in groups on the ice and have zero interest in skating. They are more concerned with talking, taking selfies or just standing there on their phones. It causes a huge tie up for skaters and makes it impossible for new skaters who need to hold the boards to get by. When I was growing up that was a big no no and the rink guards (who were not 16 year old kids) would tell you to either skate or get off the ice. Besides those two things it was a very very nice experience. Definitely worth the price of admission or maybe 3/4โs of...
ย ย ย Read moreThis was the most expensive ice skating rink Iโve ever been to, and Iโve been to a few others in Long Island. It was extremely crowded, and of course I cannot blame the people who came to ice skate on a Saturday afternoon, but I can blame the rink for letting so many people skate at once. For Godโs sake turn people away! The โrink patrolโ was USELESS. Are they getting paid? Seriously, skating around in a line while letting pre-teens who play ice hockey swerve full speed through a crowded group of skaters knocking them down, allowing six-year-olds to go the wrong way and shoot across the rink in every direction, and not stopping figure skaters from doing spins in the middle of the only area of the rink that isnโt as crowded is NOT doing your job. Thank God they yelled at that one little boy who sat down on the wall of the ice though! Also, using the zamboni only once a session (after an hour and a half) is a terrible idea, as many people were falling due to the hundreds of deep grooves in the ice. Drive the extra distance and go to Newbridge, Eisenhower, or Freeport if you want a good place to take your family or...
ย ย ย Read moreI'm disappointed and frustrated with how they handled situations there. I went there about three weeks ago and they lost my shoe and got it mixed with someone else's shoe. their way of solving this issue was reassuring me a few times that the shoe was gonna come back, and the original owner would come back with the other shoe. I called a few days after, and the only response I got was that I needed to file a claim, got an email with the claim form, but that was all I got. On the day of the incident, I had to leave with a shoe that was not mine, with no other solution than "they are going to come back with it. We're gonna do a follow-up if they ever come back". How was I suppose to go out with one shoe that was not mine! I had to buy another pair of shoe in my own terms, no other solution was...
