Unethical business practices, awful customer service, baiting price and hidden fees.

I booked a stay for Thanksgiving then 2 weeks later received an email saying the property was not available anymore, without any reason. I had to call customer service to be told the house was sold but the timeline sounded fishy. Instead of offering an alternative with the same number of rooms available in their listing, they only wanted to match the price which of course all went up for the busiest time of the year. I booked a renovated church with 4 beds and 3.5 bathrooms and after a painful discussion they wanted to put me in a... refurbished railcar (not joking) with 2 beds and 1 bath. They were even proud of the fact that they didn't ask me to pay the $500 price difference of this new "property". I pushed back, urged them to do the right thing but their answer was basically that it wasn't illegal for them to do this. They gave me an ultimatum and force the refund without my consent.

A week later, the property is still on their listing, available for the dates of my initial stay with a 40% price increase... They canceled the reservation for a Thanksgiving family reunion to squeeze out an extra few hundred bucks of commission from the rental.

I felt like had to write this review as a warning after a terrible “attempted” booking experience with this company. For 5 days I have attempted to book a property and then to get a straight answer from them regarding my booking request which was directly quoted to me. I missed the “hold” window by couple of hours because I was working and reached out immediately requesting the resend the Hold and booking link. This began a back and forth that felt like I was pursuing them to take my money rather than the company wanting me to book. When I received the new hold, the price had increased by almost $100. When I asked why, it became a slow and painful back and forth, with mostly me emailing multiple times before receiving a response, until I was finally told yesterday at 1:30pm that the original price would be honored and I would receive a new link shortly— that was over 27 hrs ago, no new link was ever sent. I have had to chase after this company over and over again, sending multiple emails to get a response. I finally decided to withdraw my request because I am not confident that they are capable of handling of the job of management...

I would HIGHLY recommend this home to anyone who’s looking for a spacious, clean, modern yet rustic barn home!

A bunch of friends and I stayed here for a long weekend and we didn’t even end up leaving the house. From the game room (pool table and dart board) and enclosed ping pong table room to the hot tub, spacious living room with lots of seating and multiple fire places (not to mention the in home gym), we had absolutley everything we needed.

It was beautifully furnished. The kitchen and bathrooms were incredibly well stocked with cooking utensils, pots and pans, bath and pool towels, shower supplies and paper goods. We were even welcomed with a bottle of wine right from a local winery.

The best part was how wonderfully responsive, helpful and lovely our hosts Jo and Brandon were. All communication was super quick. Checkin and checkout was easy and contactless.

We are absolutley going to book this home again this summer to take advantage of the pool and several acres of land. I can’t wait to try their other properties as well. Home sweet hudson was a...
