We're not big movie goers, but once in a while, we're in the mood, and we always enjoy our visits to this theatre. The movies shown play to contemporary tastes, which aren't ours, but there's often one we wouldn't mind seeing. The staff is very friendly and helpful, there's a large, comfortable lobby/waiting area, the rooms which screen the movies we go to see are mostly empty, and we can see and hear the movies without distractions from our preferred seats in the back row. It's pretty easy to access the rest rooms or to get popcorn refills or snacks during the movie without missing much screen time, but as noted in some other reviews, the staff thins out at some point after no customers are coming into the theatre. And when a late movie ends, the lobby/waiting area is actually dark, which is something we don't mind, but which might spook some people. I've given this theatre an average rating based on my general moviegoing preferences and not on account of any negative experiences here. Many others, such as parents with younger kids, or a group of teenage friends, would find this an absolutely fantastic place. And as luck would have it, there's a bowling alley a stone's throw away. After lengthy reflection on the owner's response to my original review, I have decided that a 3 star review based on my movie tastes could be misleading, so I am upgrading my original...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWent to see a movie tonight, told the worker we were there to see the 8:00pm movie of dead pool 2. For 3 movie tickets, a large popcorn, 2 pretzels, 3 large drinks, and a bag of gummy bears, for a grand total of $75.00, which is a little outrageous to me to begin with for 3 of us. But the main problem was after getting everything we were told to go to theater 12, from the worker which when we got in there by 8:06pm, the movie was already started so we thought nothing of it but then at around 8:45pm the movie was over. We were confused with the movie and very upset, come to find out that the worker had told us to go to the wrong number theater. After the movie had ended I went and spoke with the staff which I was then told we were supposed to go to theater number three so they had two showings and the worker had sent us to the showing that had started way earlier. Although after speaking with one of the workers I was given 3 free movie passes. But even with receiving the three free tickets it was not reimbursed for my money spent it was just a waste the mistake should not have happened we were all looking forward to seeing the movie but instead were disappointed at the fact we saw the ending which ruins the movie. And spent money on wasted popcorn and drinks. Very unprofessional employees with lack of knowledge of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAh, going to the movies. Easily one of my all time favorite things to do when going out into the world, and Cumberland 12 certainly is no different. After finally waiting until movie theaters slowly but surely started to open back up, I returned to one of my biggest favorites with Cumberland 12. While I will admit that some things unfortunately changed like the temporary closures of their arcade and waiting rooms kinda made me bummed a little, I do understand why with the new COVID-19 guidelines. That however doesn't change the fact that this is one of my all time favorite movie theaters to visit and catch a movie on the big screen. Cumberland 12 is one of the best independently owned theaters to go, spend time, and of course catch a movie! If you ever wanna go out to the movies, this is definitely a place you'll wanna check out for the best movie theater experience!! Easily a big...
