2nd update: Your response is INACCURATE. It's not that I chose to not back to the rear of the site it's that I could not because I have an 8 foot slide that would have hit the electrical post. I can't camp without putting the slide out so I had no choice but to park where I did. In terms of parking, several people had vehicles with corners of their bumpers in the road; so either your guests can't park of there is limited space. I do agree that some sites seemed to have appropriate parking; not the ones near me. In terms of noise, the second night we went to the site and they were very nice and acknowledged their loud noise and immediately shut it down. So, the people causing noise admitted it and you are saying no one else heard it? I wish I had kept the recording I did, from inside my camper, of the music; I didn't realize I would need it to prove my honesty. Further, you say I refused your solution but you didn't explain that I declined your offer to comp a night. Why did I do that? Because it would not be right to comp a night when we were clearly using the site; small businesses need their revenue and I was respectful of that; further, comping a night doesn't resolve the issue. The only true solution would be to prevent a repeat; which did not happen. This is so disappointing; your campground is 3 miles from my annual family reunion and now we will travel a distance to avoid being accusing of lying. Your response is unprofessional and flat out rude.
Update: This morning the manager came by after reading my review. He explained that when we arrived he would have found us a different site if we had contacted him. Who wants to arrive to camp and have to drive their camper back through the campground to try to track down a phone number to see if maybe there's another site? He went on to say that he is onsite and we should have called him to tell him about the music so he could address it. I asked where the number is and he said posted at the office. So, at 10:30p I should have gotten out of bed to go to the office to hope there is a phone number? How about if he is in the campground and can hear the excessive music he just address it instead of waiting for people to complain? Due to lack of sleep last night we went to our family reunion exhausted. Today is more of the same; excessively loud music playing. If the manager is in fact on site he should address it without us having to complain. We have a long drive home tomorrow and I assume we will be exhausted due to lack of sleep for a second night. So disappointed. Original review: Well kept campground. Transient sites have minimal parking; I have to park over my firepit and right next to my camper so no campfires and we can't put the awning out. No quiet hours; it's 10:15p and our neighbors are blasting music from the far end of the campground and it can be heard all the way to the beginning of the camping areas. Location is fantastic. It's too bad that basic things like parking and quiet hours aren't part...
Read moreI have traveled all over the US and Puerto for business for over 50 years. I have camped in GA, SC, NC, PENNSYLVANIA and NY state. In fact I camped at the site near NORTH POLE NY. Over the years in business and vacation travel I have the most enjoyable times were in facilities that have that MAGIC TOUCH. THE MAGIC TOUCH of the people who own and manage the business. Lately the MAGIC TOUCH is disappearing. With the development of AI or the cost factors of paying good people or that some people just don't take pride in a job well done. SORRY FOR THIS PREFACE. STICK WITH ME HERE!!! There is a place with THE MAGIC TOUCH!!! PLATTSBURGH RV PARK IS THE PLACE. It always starts with ownership/ leadership. The owner Neal, who I did meet a couple weeks ago, cares about the facility and continues to put more into it. This spring a couple of pickleball courts, a basketball court and a new shuffle board. He already has a fantastic pool. Most importantly he has a fantastic management team. I called Neal an owner/leader. It's easy to own but much harder to lead. A leader must hire a great team then he must get out of their way and trust them to provide THE MAGIC TOUCH!! Neal has accomplished that. The team of Angie, Evan and Jim are the best!!!! Angie, the property manager, takes so much pride in her job, if I had business up here, I would hire her in, (sorry for this) IN A NEW YORK MINUTE. BTW: I live in Georgia. ANGIE, a couple weeks ago she spent her own money to buy presents for the kids for a raffle. I was so impressed. She is always available to answer questions, to help the people who are staying. If I had a question she could not answer she got back to me when she promised she would. And always always has a smile. Jim and Evan, the maintenance team, no facility can operate without a team that knows what they are doing. I know what I am talking about, I was in real estate/self storage management for 25 years. These guys do. They also care about there clientele. Example: they helped me with sealing up my gazebo. I am 72 with a bad back. I could not have done it by myself. They worked in 85 degree temp and 80 humidity. They sweated up a storm. I tried to give them some cash but they would not take any. They are fantastic!!! More M.T. of what I spoke to before. In closing, the world is changing as we speak, nobody seems to care about doing even a good job!!!! But at Plattsburgh RV Park the people go up and above!!! Its where The MAGIC TOUCH LIVES Thanks for...
Read moreThe only thing great about this place is the location and the grounds. The people that run it, pick and choose whom they want to abide the rules. There is dog leash pretty much every where you go these days. Half the people that are staying & living there Do Not leash their dogs. There were multiple sites that had dogs and were not leashed. Not once did or dogs ever lunge or get aggressive with anyone. Were we in a tough living situation, maybe yes but does not mean because we are in a tent and paying guests that we cannot be treated like others. We are a mixed family and have 3 American Bullies. We were brutally discriminated against and was forced to leave the property, even after we paid. My son has a seizure disorder and because of the stress they put on our family, he had 2 seizures the am they came to kick us out, once my son was literally on the ground. I told them to remove themselves from our site so I could attend to my son. They didn't. They kept forcing us out n when I stated I wasn't leaving. Then they called the State Troopers. My dogs never paid any mind to them. They just sat there. It's one thing to tell the truth but to sit hear n write lies about our family does not make you a good business owner. You saw our situation and made your own assessment. You know what happens when we assume right people. We are good people, your not. Judgemental, Disrespectful & Inconsiderate of...
