Its been a rocky start with Empire Access. I was very excited to learn Empire was coming to my area. When I called I spoke with a sales rep, I was happy to hear address was within a 6 month window. I signed up right then. a few months later I checked on the status because a sales person came to my door telling me service in my area was ready and 2 of my neighbors had already signed up. When I stated I was already signed up for months now he apologized and left. When I called empire I found out you all had my address incorrect. I gave the corrected address. A few weeks go by and I get a text message stating I could schedule an install now. When I called they told me it was sent by mistake. I was offered a lower monthly cost for the frustration which I really appreciated. Then it happened a second time. My address was still incorrect in the system. When I was able to talk to my origional sales person she got my address fixed and scheduled an install. Again I was super happy to have you all come in and get away from Spectrum. The day after install I checked in on my connection speeds. I learned that i was getting decent speeds but latency issues were prevalent. I again called and asked for assistance. I was directed to Charles in tech support. When I asked him to tell me the IPv6 information he began asking me questions like, Why do I need IPv6. I said that it helps with a more stable connection. He then proceeded to tell me I was dead wrong and connection has nothing to do with IPv6. At this point I was very irritated. I made a comment to my wife that Charles took offence to and increased his attitude towards me. I asked to speak to a supervisor and he obliged. I told my story to the supervisor who was not very interested in helping me. told me you don't offer IPv6 and will never offer it. If Charles would have started with that it wasn't available, I wouldn't have a problem like I do with that department. The supervisor said he would audit the call and then told me its common practice at Empire to correct your customers when they are wrong. Its not the being wrong that bothers me. Its the fact you all couldn't get my address straight, had 2 scheduled installs fall through. An attitude from tech support when asking for help and a supervisor telling me you all correct your customers when they are wrong. Now I have high latency internet and no one seems to want to help me. If not for the lower cost than your competition I would go back. At least they never got my address wrong and when I call for help Id actually get help and not a lecture. I went from a very excited customer to a...

Read moreHad used empire before when I lived in corning and the service was good. But since moving to Watkins Glen it had been far below expectations. To start I canceled service at my old house and the lady on the phone said that she had canceled the service and someone would be by in 7 days to pickup our old equipment and I went in with our moving process. Well a couple months go by and we cal to sign up for service at our new place and turns out they never actually canceled the service at our old house even though we were sent a supposed final bill, I was told I had an outstanding balance of over 200 dollars which after talking to a customer service rep they said Iâd be contacted by their billing manger but they never contacted me back regarding the supposed outstanding balance. Even after all this I still decided to use their service for our new place and went with the gigabit internet package for $70 per month. We noticed we werenât getting anywhere near the advertised speeds closer to 20mbps up and 10mbps down. I proceeded to call and they said we had too many devices on our internet but i know it couldnât have been effecting it to the point where weâd only get less than a tenth of the advertised speeds, after continuous calls they finally discovered we werenât on the correct data profile for gigabit internet and that we were one the 30mbps data profile. So we had been paying extra a month for slower internet. And while they did take some money off our next bill, only $14, the whole situation has been such a hassle and very underwhelming. Not to mention the internet will cut out for about an hour at a time at least once a week. Sadly your only other option for and isp in the area is spectrum and theyâre just as bad...
