I've lived in the area for 7 years . Most of the people writing these reviews are family, family friends or work in the store so don't trust so easily. The owner Jim is always yelling or slamming cooler doors when he's angry. The deli worker Patti is rude as ever, and I've only ever had two of the deli ladies be nice to me and a select few of cashiers, everyone's always got a sour look on their faces. The deli food is awesome. However the meat section needs a lot of work, can't buy meat without it going completely bad/gray a day or two days later no matter what date it is to expire. I've found moldy food on the discount metal shelf that sits in front of the chips and apple/fruit cooler many times. LITERALLY rotting. I shopped here because it was this or dollar general. So when I bought meat, fruit or veggies here I had to make sure I used it within 2-3 days before everything starts going bad. They have good prices on some stuff otherwise it's all overpriced. The shelves in skme areas are also quite dusty. Yeah sure Great American is good for if you have nowhere else to go, sometimes decent deals on meat. But just keep in mind you got to use the fresh items quick, ignore the mean looks from the workers as well and don't get in Jim's way when he is mad. Shop somewhere else if you do have a choice, you'll get fresh meat and veggies that look, taste and last better than they would normally at Jim's, I don't care what the price is nobody should be buying rotten...
Read moreQuality, freshness, great customer service. I'm a resent transplant into Delaware County. Back in May of 2022, a friend highly recommended Jim's, and my my first impression from looking at the exterior was instantly blown away the moment I walked into the store. I only needed a few household incidentals, and I couldn't believe that almost an hour had passed and I was leaving with several shopping bags full of groceries. JIM'S has become my go-to store for a little over 10 months now, and I've made this family owned and operated establishment my first stop for all my food and household shopping needs. I've taken my family and friends to Jim's when they come to spend time visiting, and they can't believe how Jim's store is like going to Zabar's in New York City and though it doesn't have the square footage of one of the big box stores your mind is very content and you leave with the thought, I'm definitely going to make Jim's, my first stop for my shopping needs. I'm very pleased to recommend Jim's to everyone, go you'll be...
Read moreAbsolutely love this store and except for Price Chopper would put it as my number one grocery shopping choice. The shelves are a little bit crowded as they fit a lot of groceries in a pretty small store but it's kept organized. Their prices are extremely Fair considering they are a small town grocery store. They have something for everyone and I really do enjoy it to shopping environment overall. If I was going to make a suggestion for a great place to stop for tourists and vacationers this would be one of the places. They have things like alligator jerky and citronella candles. The pre-made foods are excellent. They really serve the...
