Auntie El's Farm Market is a charming gem nestled in Sloatsburg, NY, that exudes a homely, welcoming atmosphere from the moment you walk through the door. This market isn't just a place to shop; it's a place where you feel like part of the family.

Pros: The moment you step inside, you're greeted with warm smiles and friendly faces, making you feel right at home. The staff at Auntie El's go above and beyond to ensure every customer feels valued. They take the time to listen to your needs, offering personalized recommendations and genuinely engaging with you, which is rare to find in today's fast-paced world.

The market itself carries a little bit of everything, from fresh produce and local goods to baked treats and unique gifts. It's the kind of place where you can find fresh, seasonal fruits and vegetables alongside homemade pies and jams, all sourced with care and attention to quality. The variety might not be as vast as a large supermarket, but the carefully curated selection more than makes up for it with its charm and authenticity.

Cons: While the cozy atmosphere and personalized service are huge pluses, Auntie El's Farm Market can get quite busy, especially on weekends. This can lead to limited parking and sometimes a wait if you're looking for specific items that might be in high demand. Additionally, because it’s a smaller, family-run market, prices may be slightly higher than what you’d find in a big-box store, but the quality and service make it worth it.

Overall: Auntie El's Farm Market offers a four-star experience that combines the warmth of a family-run business with the charm of a local farm market. Whether you're stopping in for fresh produce, a homemade treat, or just to browse, you'll leave feeling appreciated and connected to the community. It's a must-visit for anyone in the Sloatsburg area looking for a shopping experience that's as personal as it...

Christmas season is not the same without getting a tree. Why spend money on a false tree when you can have a fresh pine? I enjoy supporting local establishments and Auntie El's Farm Market is a delight. They have a few breeds of trees. The noble pine is more expensive and holds its needles- pricing about 160 dollars. There's another fir tree for 85 dollars. The assortment of trees has a pick for anyone looking for a fresh pick.

Outside, there are various wreaths, lawn decor and a lovely painted pumpkin (as shown below with a Nightmare before Christmas design). Going inside of the market will greet you with a vintage and rustic aesthetic. The atmosphere is comfortable and the staff are friendly as well as attentive. Aunti El's Farm Market has a wide range of homemade goods: from fruit preserves to candy; from cakes to pie; and even homemade dog biscuits.

Overall, a trip to Auntie El's Farm Market is a must- especially this...

The Big Yummy. KNOWN FOR award winning pies and jarred preserves. Wonderful fresh veggies and garden flower selections. Well treated antiques. AMISH garden wood furniture. Stars of the store are lion and bear hunting Macedonian Shepherds, Sampson and Goliath. They are as big as bears and lie across doorways so you pet them and they great you. Big Teddy Bears you can't miss. Owner has listed a description of the breed and local breeder. A great hour's shopping and picking up the local Orange County vibe. Sixty years ago, my city dwelling family bought property in Sullivan and 3rd through 5th generations now own permanent year round homes in area. Originals always stopped at Aunt El's Farm Store on "Old 17" coming to and from. Now a staple every week for us. Check out Spiced Peaches and Mustard Horseradish Pretzel Dip worthy of McSorely's. Don't forget to tip the doormen, Sampson and Goliath with praise...

UPDATE: I wrote my original review below 6 years ago, and I still swear by Auntie El's today. My dad absolutely loved cherry pie and since he passed the holidays have been hard for my family. We now have the tradition of getting little mini cherry pies for everyone from Auntie El's every holiday. I love them and I know my dad would too! ❤️ ORIGINAL: Auntie El's has one of the best bakeries in Rockland - the pies, donuts, cookies, everything - are fresh, made to order and always delicious. Order holiday pies early because the lines form fast! The market itself is also super interesting, with fresh vegetables, antiques, candles, and oddities. Plus Halloween time brings lots of pumpkins, costumes, decorations and interesting scares in the antique room.

My regular farm on Black Oak Ridge Road in NJ was closed. They have exceptionally good pies, so after reading reviews, I decided to drive an hour out of the way to try this bakery. I ordered three 10-inch pies for $19.99 each because I really enjoy homemade desserts. I don’t mind the time or cost as long as the quality is good. Unfortunately, the pies taste too commercialized and had way too much jam or jelly inside. I was wondering why they were so heavy but for half the price, you can get a giant 25 or 30-inch pie from Costco, which has an okay tasting pie as well. However, I really enjoy homemade apple pies made with apples, not a lot of jam or jelly inside.
