It is a disgrace that besides the rundown train station (that is supposedly being remodeled but has yet to start after three years), Amtrak doesn't even care to fill in the potholes in the lower parking lot. I had my car suspension break from the deep potholes, especially the ones at the entrance of the short term parking lot.

I've been using Amtrak out of necessity for the past 15 years. After I got stranded on a train on Thanksgiving in 2018 for more than 10 hours the company didn't make any sort of reparations. We were offered a little bag with a couple crackers in it and 6 flluid oz. of water... after sitting for 10 hours. 10; all the while being told we were going to be leaving in 10 minutes. Despite clearly being screwed over by Amtrak they still had horrible customer service. Your train will be delayed and there's nothing you can do about it. Worst yet the customer service is horrendous and will leave you feeling like you have no voice. It's all fine and dandy though- they do have a monopoly on the rails; which is a shame because train travel used to be a solid option. Go elsewhere if you can; Amtrak is the worst form of...

There's an Amtrak employee here, that was AMAZING! What a kind, helpful, warm, friendly, compassionate, professional, beautiful individual, worthy of not just a raise, but if I was able I'd give him a commendation. Along with the rest of the Amtrak staff I'll be mentioning in another review. Andy, is an individual that is genuinely nice & caring. Amtrak made a GREAT choice in hiring him.

If you knew the details of the journey my sister & I have went through, and to meet another kind hearted individual along the way is always a beautiful thing. So, thanks to Amtrak & Andy at the Rhinecliff Station. AWESOME!!!

*Please Note: There are no pictures only because I was soooo exhausted & worn from over 30 hours traveling...

I usually avoid Amtrak at all costs when catching a New York City plane departure. However, I chose to take the train from Rhinecliff. This station is usually quite peaceful and nice but there is construction happening now and there is only seating outside and in the “foyer” area to the platform.

A little note. If traveling to NYC try to book a train that originates from Albany. They are more on time than the trains originating from Niagara Falls (#280).

Those with mobility issues will find it to difficult to board and disembark the train.

The view is beautiful from the platform but is bitter cold in the winter months.

Parking is limited so...
