Cabins are clean and well furnished. You can see the water if you walk across the street but from the cabin you cannot. Nice communal, fire pit out front and quiet after the traffic settles down on busy Rt 89 later in the evening. We shared the cabin with another couple and it was plenty of room and we had a lot of laughs. Wineries were part of one day. Three or four wineries within 15 minutes of the cabin, which was nice. Jim was very friendly and helpful when we needed something. We did feel that his wife was very petty as far as when we invited a couple friends over and they parked in In the parking area with plenty of room to spare. I received numerous texts that his wife said the driveway area was not an overflow lot and the cars would have to leave. So that kind of dampened things for that evening, but overall, it was a positive experience with friends, Would probably go somewhere else because of the deal with her and the pettiness . Four cars in a gravel area that had plenty of room and company that left by 10:00 pm should not be an issue ! Plenty of other cabins in area of the Finger Lakes so we would “not” go back to these particular cabins, even though they were well furnished and clean. Good to get away for a couple...
Read moreWe stayed at the Cayuga Lake Cabins over the weekend of September 7th, 2018. Jim and Cheryl greeted us after we settled and spent over an hour filling us in on all the must see attraction on this beautiful lake. Jim even took my 78 year old mother down to the lake shore on his ATV so she could see the dock and gathering area that he built. That was very nice of Jim since she would have had a rough time with the stairs. The Cabins are truly beautiful .Jim built these and is currently constructing a third. Great craftsmanship, virtually soundproof and very energy efficient. The location is perfect, directly in the middle of the lake so you have about a 20 minute drive to either Ithaca or Seneca Falls. There are several great vineyards within a few miles and also a Beer Garden. If your a cheese fan take the 15 minute drive to Muranda Cheese to do a tasting . We cooked three meals at the cabins and enjoyed the fully equipped kitcken and the charcoal grill outside . We had a lot of laughs dining at the kitchen table. Lastly the fire pit, was enjoyed every night. Jim offered up cords of perfectly aged wood which kept us warm on a chilly weekend. Thank you Jim and Cheryl! We will be...
Read moreHorrible customer service. We had to cancel a cabin rental because of a new order by PA Gov. Wolf that went into effect Nov. 20th. We can not travel from PA to NY and vise versa without a COVID test under the new mandate. We called as soon as we knew the new order and cancelled our reservation for Thanksgiving with 7 days notice but Cayuga Lake Cabins refused a refund even though we sent the official order by the governor to their cell phone. I get rules but these are unprecedented times and flexibility is a must as travel orders continue to be modified with case count. Every winery that was prepaid gave a refund without a second thought; all EXCEPT CAYUGA LAKES CABINS. They lost our business for sure. I'd be very hesitant to give any money to this unethical group of people.
In response to the owners deliberately deceiving comments; note my very limited reviews as I only write when something is thoroughly wrong due to my busy life. The deadline to use the credit for the cabin that was offered was March of 2021; your response again...
