My wife and I took the kids there today for pumpkin picking. We like to go to different farms because they all offer a different experience. This experience, unfortunately, wasn't great. The rundown: Ample parking! Easy to get in and out. Admission wasn't horrible and they did have 8 and under free as well as free for veterans. The food camp is near the parking. The station we visited wasn't good. At all. They could only accommodate one order at a time and the young lady at the counter couldn't properly charge the customers. The didn't listen to our order and messed it up. The food didn't taste good either. It wasn't horrible but I wouldn't buy it again. We took went on the hayride. It was like any other we have taken. The pumpkin patch was bad. Not a big selection at all and what was there was rotted, broken or unpleasant. When we went to pay, there was a long line with only 2 people ringing up customers. The speed of slow would be a compliment to what we and others witnessed. They absolutely didn't seem to care at all about anyone that was buying their products which keeps them in business. I'm not comparing this to retail businesses or restaurants. I'm comparing it to other farms. I'm not complaining about prices either as I understand why they are what they are. The experience wasn't good. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who expects a little more from a business that is supposed to care about...
Read moreI sent 5 sheep to shraders and they all came back labeled mutton. I emailed my point of contact Chris as to what happened. She replied that the USDA inspector said they were all old. I replied that 3 of them were lambs from this year. I started lambing the last Monday of January with the bulk of my lambs being born in February so I wanted to know what happened and obviously there was some sort of mistake and screw up with their inspector and did she talk to the inspector about the problem. Not one word back. No explanation no apology no fixing this costly mistake. I emailed again to find out what was going on and nothing. Obviously Shraders does not care about their customers or fix their mistakes.
I did not call as I wanted a record of what happened and the solutions. Ironically when I first made the appointment chris said they prefer to communicate via email as well so there is a record and no miscommunication.
What a...
Read moreI grew up and still live in Queens NY but have been hunting and vacationing in Hector NY for most of life. Only until now did I discover Schrader Farms in Romulus and so happy I did. I visited them my last trip up to buy and sample some steaks and roasts. It is hands down the best beef I’ve ever had. Once I enjoyed a few more of the steaks and burgers I had purchased from there meat market I ordered a whole cow to split with my uncle. The store and shop is immaculate and dealing with Sue and Chris was a pleasure. Wouldn’t think twice about recommending them to anyone I know. I’m also very proud to be able to support businesses in the finger lakes region any chance I can. God Bless and keep up...
