Smoke House of the Catskills — Local services in Town of Saugerties

This is THE place to buy meats, cold cuts, bacon and smoked meat, sausage, chicken and many special treats, bread, cookies and....on & on. There isn't a less than wonderful thing in the store or about the experience as far as I can tell. It's family owned and operated, local and friendly. Since our population has grown during the pandemic, there's sometimes a wait, but there's plenty to look at and the relaxed atmosphere and service is always worth it. Still great!

My favorite things: sausage stuffed (hot or sweet ) pork loin; Vienna chocolate wafers, cold cuts and cheeses, and homemade BBQ pulled pork and Gram's BBQ baked beans which I eat weekly.

Always wonderful especially when I get there early enough to score some pretzels sticks and rolls and, in the fall apple cider donuts.

I'm going to have to stop updating this! The Smokehouse has been discovered. There were 20 people ahead of me when I went in today. I'm told that it is always like this before the holidays and not just because of the city people who moved up here during the pandemic! Anyway, it's definitely...

Stopped in today and I was instantly impressed as well as overwhelmed. Just the aroma alone was enough to know the ride was well worth it. Behind the long glass case were so yummy smoked meats cheeses sausages fresh local chickens beautiful cuts of beef and pork. Fresh breads pretzel rolls and pretzel bagels. Ahhhhh and that’s just the start. The store is loaded with wonderful imported products. Jellys jams soups sauces condiments. And plenty of desserts. I felt the prices were very reasonable and the staff was super friendly. I for one can’t wait to get back there cause I know I missed a few things. We have been going to the Smokehouse since "discovering" it a few years ago. The meat is very good here. We always get smoked bacon and bacon ends, things for the charcuterie board (pate', sausages, smoked cheeses), smoked Pork chops, steaks, chicken, and ground meats. They also sell fresh mushroom, German breads and pickles, and many more. We were worried when we heard that this place was closing last 2024. However, new owners came in and continued the business and I am still a very happy and satisfied customer to this day! They retained the same staff who are friendly, helpful and professional. My latest order of a 10-lb. rib-eye roast for Easter was a winner! This...
