Camp-Resort Skazka — Hotel in Town of Saugerties

I usually never write a review. But this time I decided to write. After a long period of my working time (I am a vice president at a big corporation in Chicago) my wife and our two kids are finally made a decision and spend our vacation with my elderly parents. My wife and I began to search for a suitable place next to New York City because it happened that our parents live in New York. After a short time of our search for my eyes, there was an announcement that there was a Russian camp “Skazka” I thought it was a great idea because our parents do not speak English well and our children will also have a good time talking to Russian-speaking children. But after my wife read various reviews, we have almost abandoned this idea to go to this place. After a short time of our meditation, we still decided to go. What a pleasant surprise awaited us when we saw this beautiful well looking camp and when we met the owner of this resort. This wonderful man his name is Dmitry, was very accommodating he welcome us, explained all the rules and told us about all the entertainment activities that will take place in the near future of our stay and offer a cottage located almost in the very center of the resort. Cottage was well build with all necessary equipment what we were needed (private bathroom, color TV, pleasantly very soft linens in our beds, nice and comfortable mattresses and very quiet A/C. Three meals a day in the well decorated dining room was just wonderful. During our stay, the food was very varied and very much tasty. Especially I liked Kiev cutlets it was just a wonderful delicacy, freshly baked rolls ever day, blintzes and pancakes with different fillings, meat ravioli (vareniki) plus much, much more… A+++)) During the day we were hiking in the mountains, collected mushrooms went fishing. In the evening we danced, had much fun sang in karaoke watched nice movies… Our children get along well with other kids and enjoyed very much swimming in the well-kept swimming pool and playing Ping Pong table. It was the BEST VACATION in our life that we will never forget and with great pleasure we will come again and again. I just do not understand these people who can say bad words about this wonderful resort “SKAZKA” Thank you once again to all the staff and particular...

Those who gave more than a star to this place have either been drunk their entire stay or the reviews were bought in bulk. Mold is in most of the rooms, and the pool is not clean and overcrowded. There is no air conditioner in the game room, and this is while the owner stays in an air-conditioned room. I feel bad for our elders or kids who have to stay there.

P.S. Owner replied that my review is part of competitor conspiracy. Lol . My family stayed in your "resort". I had to stay in the hotel away from my family because this is how discusting your place has been. Your air conditioners don't work even if SOME of the rooms have them. You have a fire hazard in every bungalow with those cheap electric extenders going through the entire room. I left my review because you suddenly had all negative reviews disappear and mostly positive reviews to appear. All these so-called Russian resorts are dumps that every owner should...

(отличное место) This place is great and the staff is very nice. If you want to experience a great outdoor environment that is safe, friendly, and caring this is the place to go. When I first got here I was greeted by smiling faces and very nice people. If I could explain the way this made me feel I wouldn’t be able to because it was just mesmerizing. I’m very happy with all the service I received also when I talk about the food it was actually good and comparable to a good cafe. I personally don’t see why people would not like the stay, the environment, air, rooms, and nice complimentary russian tv really made my stay perfect. I will recommend to all my friends, and family. Really don’t hesitate just go and expirence it...
