Black Cat Books — Local services in Town of Shelter Island

This has to be one of my favorites, if not my favorite book store I've ever been to.. I would have left this review after the first time I visited, when I didn't even realize there was an entire second floor..

I always find something unique here, and we usually leave with a small pile of books, magazines, and cassettes.. This store alone is without a doubt a reason to visit shelter island. They've got some rare stuff, but you can shop on a budget as well, as I usually do. Just make sure you have some time as it really is worth spending a while looking through...

If you take the ferry into Shelter Island you must stop at this bookstore. Take your time, check both floors in the building, and you would find something for you; either if you are just going to the beach for the day or if you are staying in the area for many days.
