If I could post this review with no stars I would, but I have to make a selection so I give them 1 star.
My daughter had a class field trip to Seven Ponds this past Wednesday. The cost of the trip was $10 which all went to admission since the bus was at no cost due to prior fundraising. Her daddy chaperoned and was looking forward to some good old fashioned fun. When they got to the farm everyone (students, teachers and bus drivers) but the chaperoning parents got a small bag big enough to to hold 10 apples (the bag size said 1/4 peck). Some of the parents went to purchase bags but were outraged at the price. $20 for a slightly larger bag that holds about 20 apples. 20 bucks divided by 20 apples equals $1 an apple. We can get apples cheaper than that at the grocery store. In addition there were no signs posted stating whether or not they sprayed pesticides on the trees. When asked the answer was yes. But it was too late, half the kids on the trip had already started eating apples from their bag. The teachers made an announcement to the kids to drop any apples they were in the process of eating. The kids did however enjoy the playground.
My only other experience apple picking was in upstate NY near Howe Caverns. I can't remember the name of the farm, but I can tell you that for $26 dollars we came home with a bushel (4 pecks) of apples. They even let us take them home with a "promise to pay" since they didn't take credit cards.
Moral of the story, we will never go back to Seven Ponds nor will I recommend...
Read moreThe orchard had some delicious varieties the weekend we visited. Decent size. Clean. Much quieter than the competition. For the bad, it's exorbitantly expensive. Their medium bag barely held 15 apples. For $30 at $2 an apple, I didn't leave satisfied at all. The "food court" was atrocious. We arrived at 12pm and they were sold out of 75% of what they offer, which isn't much (corn, loaded potato, hot dogs). The staff doesn't know what's in stock until AFTER you order, nor do they even care. Microwaved and/or sitting under warmers. Nasty. And then the biggest issue here is the playground for kids. Actually really cool, but that's the problem. Everyone, and I mean everyone pays an entrance fee. Me, as a 270lb adult who can basically walk the corn maze or sit on a lame "hay ride" (no hay in sight), has to pay full entrance so I can watch my 4yr old kids not break their necks on some pretty sketchy wooden structures. Infuriating. They know they've got the kids hooked, and as a result we were down $80 just in there. I don't mind paying if there was something to make it worthwhile. Let the adults freely roam to watch their children bc there certainly is no safety team walking around. Bad form,...
Read moreTook a ride out east to enjoy some blueberry picking. When we arrive we asked Ethan how it works cost and all. He showed us a display on the wall and told us about the different options. We asked him about the blueberries he said no blueberries(they were posted) only blackberries and raspberry’s then we asked about the zucchini which was also posted, and he said, no zucchini only (whatever items mentioned previously). And then said “what I told you 2 times already”. Are you kidding me. That’s how you answer a customer? 2 people where in the store and didn’t look like anyone in the field. Did we bother him during his busy day. I enjoyed the nice ride out east but refused to give my business to someone like that. When we walked out I said “customer service goes a long way. No reason to be so nasty”. Lost our business. Not only did the signs mention blueberries and zucchini but so did the recording on the phone. We didn’t leave because they did not have blueberries, we left because Ethan with a capital E as he said , Was nasty!! Find a better...
