Odd that I just came across this review from a few years ago but I had to add my two cents as I had a similar experience with the staff. We had redone both our kitchen and bath back about 15 years ago and bought all our fixtures and plumbing supplies from Blackman in SH so when the kitchen faucet died I returned last year. My husband and son were picking up a hot water tank and associated plumbing and I went in to find a faucet for ourselves. It is not the same as15 years ago when the sales staff was warm and welcoming. Each sales person sent me to another until I was sent to someone who actually was at lunch! I waited and, like the above poster, was totally ignored. After 30 minutes of being ignored I left and bought my faucet elsewhere. I guess my purchase was too small for anyone to bother with which was particularly galling as my husband was picking up a more substantial purchase in the back. If you are not yuppie enough or redoing an entire room no one in the sales room is interested in your business. We are done...
Read moreMy husband and I were shocked today when we visited the Blackman/Ferguson showroom in Southampton. We were looking to buy several items and couldn't get anyone to wait on us and when we finally did get a "salesperson" he was rude and clearly didn't want to deal with us. It seems that only if you have a big project then they may be interested. The man with the bun was annoyed when we asked questions about the items and suggested actually that he was too busy to deal with my questions. Another woman helped only because we were persistent but indicated that she was busy and not a sales person. She also told us that we needed to set up a meeting with the receptionist who was the only polite and friendly person in the place. Perhaps they should have a number system like in the post office!! Later today in another store where we ended up buying what we needed, they told us that they had also heard of the rude sales staff at Blackman's. Read moreI will be suing Blackman Plumbing. I placed an order over $20,000 to find that I did not receive two very expensive faucets, one shower body, one set of vanity legs, and on top of this an incorrect sink size. If you're doing construction, your contractor signs for many packages. Unfortunately my contractor signed for a bulk order without checking each box. According to Blackman they could not find a proof of delivery, however their policy is to inspect packages within 48 hours, otherwise there is nothing they can do. This is terrible service and the salesperson Benjamin Carrick did very little help to resolve all of these issues. He even asked that I pay more for the incorrect 9" smaller sink that I installed without double checking as it costs more.
