What a great experience overall. And what a great amount of skill Santa has, this is not your normal Santa visit. I'm glad there is time to allow the child to get to know Santa AND that Santa has a great calming ability with kids... who'd a thought! There were plenty of picture opportunities outside as well. The walk was good and beautiful. Just a couple of notes being our first time (a plug for a page for "First Time Visitors"). If you purchased tickets for a group and they are coming in different vehicles... share the QR Code or email. The people were very helpful and nice, but it would have saved a bunch of phone calls (and blood pressure) while waiting in line for our friends we invited. We had thought that we would meet inside "after" parking. Didn't know you showed the ticket "before" parking. (Yes this keeps you in a warm vehicle rather than waiting in a line standing outside). Go... it's worth it and fun for the whole family! Anyway, what fun for the adults as well as our grandchild! A must place to see...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFirst time at Miracle on Big Rock and even tho all the snow had melted and/or washed away by recent rains, it was a very beautiful and relaxing place to visit. The grounds were varied with slopes here and there, bridges over the lake and river, buildings beautifully decorated with dancing lights, an indoor pavilion with many tables/chairs and live music/drinks, campfires all over with fixings for sāmores to buy, etcā¦etcā¦etc. I had been to Bentlyville this year, but it costed $10 for parking and even tho the show was free, it was packed and lines were extremely long for the free hot cocoa and popcorn. I have yet to see the Samās Christmas Lighting but the high cost of it has deterred me from getting there (Especially when we love to bring our 6 grandchildren). Hopefully next year we can do some sliding at Miracle on Big Rock. And hopefully next year the train ride will be less than $10 a person (ouch)! We highly recommend this festive...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIt's so pretty! A little spendy, but the kids and adults had a blast, so worth it. We spent the $10 (each!) for the train ride and for us it was worth every penny. We have a couple adults with hurt knees at the moment, and littles who maybe would have been exhausted walking the whole thing. It was nice to be able to get on and off the train at all the different places and take photos/explore and then jump back on when we were done. The fireworks were fun, and they just hit different in the cold weather. Not as loud, and still pretty. A perfect combo. There was some miscommunication with when they would be doing the fireworks and one of the guys running the train told us they were going in a few minutes and he wasn't going to run, but that ended up being a half hour. That was kind of a waste of time we could have been seeing other things. We are already talking about going back next year, and possibly renting a tent for warm ups...
