If you are ever through StCroix falls on hwy 8 STOP AT SWANKS!! If you're craving that choice cut of meat thicker than you can buy in a grocery store, stop here! They will cut to order and even marinade your steak, chicken, pork in a delicious marinade that enhances the meat. If you're a steak/meat purist go without. We've been buying meat from them for years and have never been disappointed in any cut we've had. Be prepared to pay a little more but when you factor in, the price is what you'd expect to pay for a good steak, but it's cut to order, it's as fresh as it gets ( they do have frozen cuts) it comes wrapped or sealed in marinade and it's LOCAL!! You're supporting local! Not shipped in from??? Buying dad, grandpa, your man or wife! Gf etc a special steak? will show them just how special you...

Horrible! To be clear, this is not the first time I’ve bought and processed bulk meat. Been buying 1/2. & 1/4 sides for years from various butchers and farmer alike. Recently from Swanks I’ve bought 1/4 beef, 1/2 hog, and had some venison trim sausage and sticks made in the last couple years. The beef and the pork looked and tasted as if it was old. Grey, dry, stale spots on quite a few cuts and burger. Looked to me like they did the switch with showcase meat. The bacon was tough as hell and tastes as though it was smoked with poplar. The venison was made into the wrong flavor sticks. Not something you can just exchange. Each time I went back thinking that Ill give them 1 more try because they seem like nice people. Im done. I would not recommend this...

Very disappointed from start to finish. I just picked up my venison sausage order today and not only did they completely screw up the order it took 20 minutes of arguing with the butcher to hardly get so much as an apology. Also when I dropped off my meat the women filling out my order was rude and also failed to mention anything about the additional charges for cheese added to a part of my order. So to my surprise not only was the order wrote up wrong (that's who the butcher put the blame on anyways ) there was also a additional $30 on my bill. Very poor customer service from beginning to end. I would not recommend Swanks for any deer processing what so ever. I will never be going there again nor would i recommend...
