We recently visited Wiedy's furniture while shopping for a bedroom set. When we arrived at Wiedy's we were greeted by a couple employees welcoming us to the store. They asked if they could help us in anyway. We told them we were looking for bedroom sets and they pointed us in the right direction. This was a relief from some of the previous furniture stores we had visited in which we felt like we had a stalker that was writing our memoir! We appreciated the ability to walk around and shop without someone breathing down our necks!
After shopping for a bit, we were approached by Gitelle ("G") who asked if we had any questions. We asked a few and she was able to again point us to a few collections that met our criteria for quality and workmanship. "G" was very friendly and knowledgeable about the products. Although we were pretty sure that we had found our set, we told her that we were going to think about it, and she let us walk out the door without feeling "chased". She called us the next day to let us know that there was going to be a sale price available, but again "no pressure". We discussed it and decided to go ahead with the purchase.
We ordered the Vaughn-Bassett Maple Road - Antique Amish Bedroom Collection with a slat poster headboard and storage footboard. We also ordered two nightstands, the 7-drawer dresser, and sweater chest. In addition, we ordered a King Koil mattress. The furniture arrived about 3 weeks later, and has absolutely exceeded our expectations. I love walking into my bedroom and seeing it!
Not only was "G" fantastic to work with in the store, but Chris was amazing during the delivery process! We had ordered a King-sized set. The set is made of solid wood and was incredibly heavy. They carried it up the porch stairs and to the upstairs bedroom. Because we have an L-shaped staircase in the house, the sweater chest (4' wide) was a very tight fit. Chris had to remove our handrails to get the piece upstairs (and put them back on again after they got the piece through). Moving this set into our house was a long, arduous task, but they completed it without so much as a single nick to the furniture or walls in our home.
We have already, and will continue to recommend Wiedy's Furniture for anyone's furnishing needs! This family-owned, family-run, and family-friendly business cannot be beat for customer-service, quality, selection, and value! In the future Wiedy's will be not only our first-stop, but our only stop when shopping...
Read moreI recently bought a mattress and a chair at Wiedy's. I chose to go there because I use the car wash next door, and I thought I'd give Wiedy's a try. Their prices are higher than you can get at a chain or online, and there are many other local dealers who also charge less, so there is plenty of choice. Going to Wiedy's was a mistake because they lied to me to make the sale.
In buying the mattress I told them that my wife had used the guest room bed to drink coffee and eat, so there were many stains on the mattress. Hence, I asked for a mattress cover for the new mattress. In addition, I told the sales person that it was important that they be able to take the old mattress away because it is difficult to find help.
When the delivery guy arrived with the new mattress and chair, he refused to take away the old mattress, even though that had been a condition of my purchase. He told me that Wiedy's gives the driver "discretion," and since the old mattress had coffee, ash tray, and food stains, he would not remove the mattress. No one at Wiedy's had mentioned the fine print when they were eager to make the sale, and I would not have bought there had I been told that the driver had "discretion" to refuse to take away the old mattress. I specifically had told the salesperson that the old mattress was dirty and that I needed a mattress cover, but he did not mention the "discretion" principle.
I called the owner to complain, and his response was arrogant, smug, indifferent, and incompetent. He assured me that he gives the drivers discretion, or didn't I know. I assured him that I would not be buying my next mattress from Wiedy's.
Two weeks later I am still looking for someone to cart the old mattress. The driver left the old one on a screened-in porch, and it has been an eye sore. I have tried several haulers, but they are too busy. ...
Read moreNo matter what the reciept says they will not do exchanges or returns. Customer service was alright. Salesmen were very kind and knowledgeable but spread too thin to adequately help. Selection not impressive as they had a fair amount of low quality, overpriced pieces. I purchased a floor model chair because I have a bad back and hoping to try it out longer I figured I could return it if needed since the receipt didn't say no returns. I shopped local for returnability and customer service. It was not custom, clearance or marked as is (reasons listed for non returnable items). After 20 days we contacted them about doing an exchange or refund or store credit and was told we had it for too long. I am disabled, weigh 95lbs and only sat in the chair for a few hours max. The chair is in the same shape as the day it was delivered with tags still attached. Now I am stuck with a thousand dollar chair I can't sit on. This was a big purchase as I am on a small fixed ssdi income. I had planned on coming back for a full living room set but I will not now. I like to support small local businesses but I doubt I will shop there again. Considering contacting the better business bureau. Return policies should be made clear and my type of purchase is not included on the invoice as...
