I liked WEIS Markets, but I'm lowering my score from 5 to 3 because of checkout and self checkout issues. I went today, 8-27-2024, to pickup some needed groceries. I got my groceries quickly, although some were quite expensive, and then went to the checkout. There were two very long lines, but two other unused lines. I went in one of the unused, yet lit-up lines. Two employees were milling around, so after a couple of minutes I asked if the line was open. The young man said yes, but these lines were self checkout, although they were unlabeled as such. I asked which lines were attended, and he pointed to the two backed up lines farther down. He said I could ask for help if I got stuck. The self checkout line was one of the most user-unfriendly interfaces I've ever encountered. If one of my students had written this program, I would have failed them! I missed a prompt saying I was using my own bags, and it didn't provide a way to say buy zero bags later. I had to ask for help 3 times, go back and rescan. After putting in my credit card, the terminal stopped and said wait for a cashier. I waited, then flagged down one of the employees standing around. She came over and scanned her badge to continue. The prompt said insert credit card, but I already did that!!!! I don't want it to charge twice, so again ask for help. It took me 14 minutes to checkout six items!! I think this is the last time I go to WEIS Markets. The lesson is to take care of your customers, or...
Read moreFYI... to all who shop @ Weis Markets! Be sure to check your receipts! Today is the 4th time in 2 months, when using my Weis card, that i did not get the sale price on items that were marked on sale. The other 3 time prior to today, i used my time to go back to speak to a supervisor of the problem. Each time i mentioned how i was not back to get the monies that was owed to me but instead i only wanted to let them know so that it would be taken care of. Today however i decided my patience had run out. So i went back in to speak with a supervisor once again. After showing him the receipt and explaining the problem to him, i felt he implied i was lying or something because he said he needed to go back and check the items i was referring to. After waiting there. he came back and told me to follow him to a register and gave me the monies that was owed to me. His apology was very short and well, not much of an apology at all. So needless to say i don't believe i will not be giving Weis Markets my business, which is very unfortunate due to this causing a huge inconvenience to my family & i. It will now take an additional 20 minutes to get to a different...
Read moreThis store is going down hill. They never have anything stocked, the weis brand bread is not being rotated, had bought moldy bread twice now and had to return. Twice now in the past month the store has not even been open at 7am. Two Sundays ago 10 people standing outside at 7:15; a customer pulled the doors open. Young staff working the front said no manager there yet and that he is always late, due to this, no cashiers could open up due to them not being able to get cash out of safe. Every single morning the bakery lady is set in her ways and never has any bagels, muffins, or donuts out, literally watched people walk out and say they are going to different store. On Sundays, you have an older population that pick up things for church, or essential staff like myself that work in Healthcare that don't have weekends off. I am so disappointed that I can live 1 mile away from a store and not want to shop there due to the lack of professionalism. Have asked other store personnel in the community and they have even stated that this one store is losing 📉 sales....
