Topper Saloon & Eatery — Restaurant in Town of Union

I'm in the market for a go-to bar and had pleasant experiences at Topper years ago. The atmosphere is casual and the layout comfortably accommodates plenty of viewing space to the band and dancing.

My only disappointment, and this is a deal breaker for a hang out location, is the service provided by the 11 year employee behind the bar. When I ordered my drink, I requested water in a glass rather than a one use container and was denied. Her first reason was that plastic cups were the only way she could tell who was underage. That's when she told me she had been there 11 years which seemed like a comment meant to make me accept everything else that followed. When I commented I don't like to use one use containers, she said it was the owner's policy.

The band (Broken Arrow) was very good and played classic 80s, among my favorite genres. I'm going to suggest they play at Kelli's in Endicott as the service is excellent...

Used to go there frequently prior to covid. Was a great local bar with decent food.Our first time back was very disappointing. The new barmaid ( not the one from pre covid)was friendly enough, but the cook was different . I ordered a BLT, which was okay..hard to screw that up. Hubby ordered the half lb burger, medium, with well done fries. When it came, the burger was the size you might find on the kiddy menu, and was overcooked. The fries, while hot, were simply nowhere near well done. What a disappointment, as we really looked forward to returning there. A Oh, additionally, the Guinness...

This is one of Endicott's larger venues for bands. Live music every weekend and a nice kitchen make it a regular stopen for both the young and older crowd. A pool table and shuffle board provide entertainment while the bar is always full with regulars.
