I had one of the worst experiences in a dealership ever when I tried to go through them in November. My credit is not very good, and I didnât have much to put down. A friend recommended them to me as someone in a similar situation and said they were very pleased with them. I wish I could say the same. My salesman was named Greg, he was hit or miss on how responsive he was during our initial communication but I understand people get busy and that did not deter me. I explained I understood if he would not be able to work with me as my credit was poor, I only have 500 down and I was upside down on my trade in. I made it clear that with these things I could not afford more than a $500 payment. He assured me he could make something work for me and the next day calls me to tell me that he was able to make it work through an in house program they had and asked me to come in to discuss terms. I again reminded him I could not afford more than $500 a month and if that wasnât able to work that was okay and I didnât want to waste his time. He again told me there were no reason to be concerned and to just come in. So I leave early from work, drive all the way there and everything goes downhill from here. Immediately upon coming in he asks for my registration hands it to someone else and has me change the insurance on my car. This seemed strange to me and my fiance but truth be told we are both young and donât have a lot of experience in dealerships so we figured since he assured us twice he could make $500 work there was no harm even though we havenât seen the numbers yet. After switching the insurance he lets us see the car but no test ride before he has us sit with a financial advisor/manager who tells us our monthly payment will be over $700 a month. We immediately tell him we made it clear to Greg we could NOT do over $500 so he called Greg in and Greg immediately began spewing off random things about how we just have to tough it out for 3 months then in march refinance the loan to bring us to the $500 monthly. We tell him we need to discuss in private and we walk outside, my fiancĂŠ saw him lingering near by clearly trying to listen into our conversation, then we go back in and tell the financial manager we could not take the deal unless we could get a guarantee that in march the payment would go down. The financial manager was honest with us and said they could not guarantee anything and itâs a possibility but not likely. We thanked him for his time and went to leave and unfortunately that is not where it ended. Once we got back into the car I realized the registration was still inside. My fiance went back in to ask Greg for it and was immediately hassled and put down for not taking the car. My fiance explained that the car would be almost half our income and thereâs no way we could possible afford that high a payment and Greg told him to âjust door dash or somethingâ after roughly 10 minutes of going back and fourth about it being a ridiculous amount and Gregs empty promises that we could refinance it in March it ended with my fiance taking our registration and leaving. The next day I got a text from Greg telling me he was able to get his manager to approve $500 a month. Iâm happy we walked and just want to warn any young people with a seemingly bad financial situation to stay the hell away from this place because we definitely feel our age and situation made Greg feel like he could convince us to sign up for a situation that would hurt us rather...
Read morePurchased my Jeep from Bob Johnson Jeep (as well as other vehicles). Have had the sunroof replaced once already due to a leak. Problem was not fixed right, and have been back and forth with the service department about this issue since. Made one final attempt to get this issue fixed. Called on 5/13/24 and MADE AN APPT FOR MONDAY 5/20/24. I even dropped it off the night prior, no envelopes in night drop box. Dealt with Chase Grant. Day of service appt (5/20/24), no update call, so I called at 5:30pm (dealership closing at 6p). I was told by Chase that they didnât get a chance to get to my car. Confusing, since I HAD AN APPT. Day two, 5/21/24, again no update call. I again needed to reach out. I called at 5:04 and 5:07pm. Spoke with Chase, were able to find the leak, but unable to get with their âglass guyâ in order to have it fixed, or set up an appt to have it fixed. Day three, 5/22/24, I called Chase at 2:18pm for an update as I am now borrowing vehicles to be able to get back and forth to work. He stated that they still hadnât had a chance to get with their âglass guyâ but that I could pick up my vehicle and he would be in touch as soon as there was an appt set up. I went to pick up my car, Chase was conveniently unavailable. There was a woman that went out and brought my car around that was very nice and helpful. My only positive about the experience. I did reiterate with her that Chase would follow up with me with an appt to fix this ongoing sunroof problem and she said, âyes, he will call youâ. June, 11 2024 rolled around, 22 days since I was told that I would receive a call for an appt for my continued issues with my sunroom, and still no follow up. I called on 6/11/24 11:41am questioning why I had not heard anything from Chase. I left a very specific message stating I would like a call back and I also requested a copy of my service records and a copy of my extended warranty as well. As of today, July, 11 2024, I have not received a call back from Chase Grant. To say that I am unhappy is absolutely an understatement. This is not the first time that I have had issues with Bob Johnson Jeepâs service department. I am looking forward to the day that I no longer will have to deal with them. Unfortunately, @JEEP has lost a customer as well. I donât care to have a vehicle that I cannot get proper maintenance or service...
Read moreI had an absolute horrible experience here!! My check engine light had been on and a flashing warning sign that my headlight was low so I made an appointment here on November 4th. I brought it in, and I have an interlock device in the vehicle I told them do not leave the car running as it will violate the device and will cost me a lot of money, they assured me it was in good hands. I had to leave my car there to attend a work meeting, and they told me they'd call with updates, I dropped it off at 8am, I called after my work meeting around 9:30am and they hadn't gotten it in yet. I did receive a text when they finally got it in, and I did receive a call stating they think the check engine light was on due to low oil and recommended I get an oil change, I agreed to an oil change and nothing else. I asked about the flashing light warning sign and they said my license light was out and if I wanted to pay for a diagnostic test to see why I could do that otherwise I was advised to fix it myself so I denied the diagnostic test. Finally they called me around 3pm to tell me the car was ready. I asked how much the oil change was and they told me it was $266 I was flabbergasted!! I didn't think oil changes were that expensive, she told me they did a diagnostic test. I was never told that was being done and I didn't know u needed a diagnostic test to figure out it needed an oil change. So she talked with the manager and brought it down to $104 I said that's still a lot for an oil change I didn't understand the price. She finally got it down to $80 which is a standard oil change price and I was ok with that as that's what I anticipated on paying for. I went to pick up my car, and they told me they had left my car running and unattended and violated my interlock device. Smart start doesn't reimburse me for incompetent mechanics and I had to drive an hour to Gouverneur to get it serviced and was charged $180 out of my pocket when it wasn't my fault! Also i checked my license plate light and realized there wasn't even a bulb and they wanted to charge me for a diagnostic test to figure out theres no light bulb in it. Absolutely terrible...
