Swing in here whenever Iām in town. Every few years. First, ample parking. Never have to worry about that. Friendly staff as you walk in. Place is very clean. First thing I noticed is how the beef jerky is $36 a pound! I did notice how the their prices have been going up but this is a little crazy. For what you can get around here, thereās too many other butcher shops that donāt charge as much. At this point, youāre paying for the name, not so much the product. Also, they had a deal that if you spend $90 you get free Bacon. I spent almost $300 and said Iāll be driving when I leave there (and I donāt eat bacon for other reasons) so I asked to substitute it for something/anything that was cheaper??Was rudely told I could notā¦.I just spent $300!!! and wasnāt allowed to sub $9 Bacon for even a $2 horseradish LMAO Will NOT be coming back ever again. Was on the fence coming back with the insanely high prices but after spending $300 and not being able to do a simple substitutionā¦this establishment places profit over...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHorrible customer service. They totally messed up my order, sending it when the receiver was away for the holidays. Left multiple messages for a call back and nothing. Was able to talk to a person named "Sue" at the Wittenberg location who had the nerve to tell me it is close to the holidays and they are too busy to talk to me!! Apparently once they have your money you are no longer important! Worst customer experience I have dealt with in years. It is 48 hours now and over a dozen phone calls to the store, customer service and any number I can find and I have yet to be able to talk to a live body who could deal with the problem. I don't count "Sue" as a live body when all she could say is we are busy before the holidays! Have ordered for years from them and this will be the last one...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreShipping charges are a rip-off. We checked with UPS and the rate to ship the same weight to our home that is just 1 state away from them is $11 where Nueske's is charging $25.99 for standard shipping. Too many companies, like Nueske's scam their customers with exaggerated fees just to buy their products. Shipping and handling fees are simply a cost of doing business when a company decides to sell their products online knowing that their customers are not physically located where they are. Companies get great discounts from shipping carriers. So, while the $11 rate that we got from UPS would be considered a retail rate, companies like Nueske's would get a discounted rate below the $11. I corresponded with their customer service about this issue and Joanne's responses were simply...
