Hanke’s is awesome! For starts, it’s the CLEANEST store I have ever stepped foot in (no joke, you would swear the floors are hand polished) plus, the selection is fantastic. Being in a small town, it is such a blessing having the convenience of this store only minutes away from my house for any last min cooking supplies. The prices are extremely comparable to other similar stores, and carry so much product you would never guess it’s in a small town!! The people that work there are always so nice, everyone’s smiling!! So they must be pretty good to their employees that they are so happy all the time. Always helpful too!! The deli rocks!! If you haven’t stopped yet, just go to the deli, it’s as large as chain stores, with a HUGE selection of fresh items! For a quick bite, they have hot meals in the deli too, including rotisserie chicken, priced exceptionally low and very tasty! Oh and pay attention to their ads; some sales are a steal!! All in all, I feel Wittenberg is fortunate to have this establishment, not only for the convenience, but the many jobs Hankes supplies, and all that Hankes does to give back to the community! Wow is all I have to say. We rented a cabin In the area and needed a few things. I was absolutely shocked by the prices in this store. Shocked. We thought coming from Southern Wisconsin things would be cheaper. Wrong. $18 for a 24 case of soda is ridiculous. I lived in California for 8 years and never saw prices that high there.
