1/5 Stars - Save yourself the frustration and use another local company! I hired Mountain Pools to close my newly built pool for winter since the pool builder doesn't provide service. The closing went reasonably well - the workers were nice and took time to figure out my pool's unique setup so I thought (skimmer pump plus regular pump).
The spring opening was a disaste
-$500 base charge just to remove cover, basic cleaning, and turn on pump -Extra $50 charge for a bag of salt (would be fine if they actually provided full service) -They couldn't complete the cleaning due to pump issues but still charged full price
Damaged Equipment:
-They stepped on a paver covering my auto cover box despite my specific warning not to walk on them -Left a pump connected that should have been removed during closing, ruining it. Cost me $1200 to replace the damaged pump For a company that closes pools and mine being a "different" type of pool, I would think they would have researched proper procedures but I guess that is debatable. Worst part is that they just talked over it without ever addressing the issue or that it could be an issue, just a note that skimmer pump wouldn’t turn on so we couldn’t clean pool.
Unprofessional Owner Response: The worst part was of all of this was dealing with owner Peter regarding the paver. I was laying in bed one day when all of the sudden a man walks past my bedroom window (note I have a wall of floor to ceiling windows so thank god I was dressed). Turns out it was the owner of mountain pools, Peter. No phone call/email saying he was coming, no knock on the door, he had jumped the fence and didn’t even really say hi or explain why he had just shown up unannounced. He went on to examine the paver and said it was missing a support. I’m a pretty pleasing person, non confrontational so I explained I had told them not to walk on the pavers but I do have an extra paver but done have the tools or the skills to cut it, is this something he can help with? He said it’s really not hard, sure or you can have the people who built the pool do it. This was the second major shocker from the owner of this company. No apology, no reassurance he will fix the issue he caused but instead trying to make it out it was the builders fault and they should come and fix. This guy has got the be the worst business owner I’ve ever come across. The attitude, the unprofessionalism, the lack of knowing the importance of keeping a customer and how one would/could lose one is shocking.
After reading the reviews of this company it makes sense now that this business was handed to him recently, definitely was not something that he built over the years, just not possible after interacting with this guy.
Definitely use one of the other local...
Read moreWe recently hired Mountain Pools to perform the opening service for our pool (two years old and installed by previous owner), and our experience with them was nothing short of a complete disappointment. Despite charging a significant amount for their services, they failed to deliver on their promises and left my husband and myself, the homeowners, to take matters into our own hands.
To begin with, we paid Mountain Pools to handle the opening service, which included necessary maintenance tasks to prepare the pool for the summer season. However, it became apparent that they lacked the expertise for the job and they not only neglected to perform the necessary tasks but also failed to communicate their incompetence.
What truly aggravated me was the fact that they had the audacity to charge us for the opening service when they clearly did nothing to deserve payment. It is not only unprofessional but also unethical to charge customers for services that were not rendered. To add insult to injury, my husband was forced to invest additional time and money into installing the diving board, making sure the swim jets were working (spent hours calling the manufacturer and working on getting the swim jets operable as Mountain Pools refused to help), and my husband turned the heater on himself - because the pool company failed to address these essential components of opening a pool and said they couldn't figure out how to do these tasks and that we shouldn't be bothering them as they were busy.
The overall lack of professionalism and accountability is truly disheartening. As a homeowner, I expect reliable and competent service from the professionals I hire. It is evident that this company falls short in both aspects. Their inability to fulfill their commitments, coupled with their unwillingness to rectify the situation, showcases a complete disregard for customer satisfaction.
I strongly advise anyone seeking pool services to steer clear of Mountain Pools. Their poor workmanship, lack of transparency, and disregard for customer concerns are clear indicators of their untrustworthiness. Save yourself the frustration and find a reputable pool company that values its customers and provides quality service.
We will certainly not be using their...
Read moreWe had an excellent experience with our pool installation last year. Being our first year, we’ve had a lot of questions and little things to iron out. Peter, the new owner, has been extremely responsive to all our texts and emails, not only replying right away, but coming out to the house when we have a question to check things out and ensure we’re all set. He has a very professional ethic, and I look forward to seeing how he continues to manage and improve on Mountain Pools as a business. He recently implemented a pay online option from a click in the monthly email invoice… doesn’t sound like much, but he bought the business and there weren’t a lot of modern systems, and he’s putting them in place. One thing I look forward to (maybe next season?) is a digital maintenance scheduling and notification system so we know when they’re coming… one step at a time for now lol. Our pool install went so well, and looks so beautiful… the installation team was fantastic, and again, Peter the owner is super professional. I really support him as an individual, and plan to be part of his client base to be a part of his success with taking Mountain Pools to...
