This is the correct location to enter the parking lot for Angel Falls. This is the point you will bare to left leaving Bemis Road toward the parking area. If you have a vehicle with low clearance, you may want to park in a small parking area on Bemis Rd on the left before you come to the fork to the parking area. Do not continue past the signs (baring to the right at the fork) for Angel Falls as you will enter a private road leading to.private property. Stay to left at the fork! You will see signs for Angel Falls on a tree where you bare left. This gravel road will continue to the parking area (NOTE this road is rough and very steep be careful) and if followed will end at a brook where you continue on foot across this Brook and follow the wide trail that resembles a road but is not passable by car or jeep. When your in the parking area, walk toward the left and south toward the brook! This will be the first and easier brook crossing to do, however it is challenging and not just a walk across unless you go directly in the water. The brook is not very deep at this point but very rocky! Follow the wide road until you come to much smaller trail that has red blazes on trees into the woods (This will be the actual trailhead into the woods). You will come to a much more challenging Brook crossing with deeper and faster flowing Brook over rocks. I am 64 and at this point we stopped and will return later in the summer when water is lower. You have to follow the red blazes to the falls, crossing the Brook a few more times. I have not made it to the actual falls yet. I suggest bringing 2 hiking poles to use crossing this Brook to steady as you cross rocks and some trees across the Brook. I will update this when I make it to the falls! Note that you will cross a large wooden bridge as you get off route 17 and onto Bemis road to the Parking area near Angel Falls trailhead! This is a gravel road and goes for some miles before you get to signs and fork to the parking area off Bemis road! So yes your on the right road to the Falls! Bare left at the trees with the signs! I have attached a nice topographic map (see my profile) green in color with the road into old quarry parking area in red. The P is spot on Bemis Rd where there is a small parking area and walk down into the old quarry area. Numbers 1 & 2 are parking areas down in the old quarry (Number 2 is if you keep driving past 1 and there is another area right before the crossing). Number 3 is the 1st brook crossing of Aberdeen Stream. Number 4 is the actual trailhead with red blazes and Number 5 is the 2nd brook crossing being Mountain Brook and 6 being the Falls of Mountain Brook! You will have other crossings of Mountain Brook before arriving...
