Costco Wholesale — Local services in Traverse City

Okay so I never ever have left anyone a bad review but obviously big companies like Costco does not care about customer service. I also work for a large company and go above and beyond to make sure our customers are happy. We ordered a new washer/dryer and spent more to get a good brand, get it delivered and installed. First they said “we will be there between 7am and 9am. No problem, I waited and watched…no one, no call. Then they emailed my husband saying it was moved to 1-3. Mins you this is my only day off. I spent it at home waiting. They still never came. By 5:40pm they came which my husband had to come home from work early so I could get to my appointment. They refused to deliver it and also did not set up or take the old models. They did not care. So my husband stayed up and put it all together and when we took the dryer from the box it was dented!!! We called, they offered $75 dollars off (from 1,400). It’s insulting. We never ask for much, consider ourselves easy going people with 5 boys, you must be super patient. This was a joke, their lack of caring blew us away. Everything that could go wrong went wrong. Obviously switching back to Sams or will spend more at other stores, that’s how disappointing this was—the extreme lack of care, broken product and refusal to bring the stuff inside (because it was snowing). I was visiting TC for the weekend and regrettably forgot I’m blind without assistance. I’d packed several unnecessary items, and went on my merry way believing all was well. 2.5 hours into the drive, when my contacts started drying out, I realized I’d left the most crucial items of all behind- my vision assistance. Not just my contacts (single use dailies), but my glasses along with them. I couldn’t even reuse the pair that was currently in my eyes, as they’d lose their structure if stored. I was panicking, as every optometrist seemed to be closed for the weekend. I had just resigned myself to the fact that I might just have to do some very blurry sightseeing, when I remembered- I’m a Costco member! Costco has an optical department! I made a few calls, talked to a very lovely and helpful woman (I think her name is Kathy) who allowed me to pick up some trial packs, given that I could produce evidence of a current prescription. My boyfriend and I drove about 40 minutes and arrived at a bustling scene. We walked in, enjoyed the ambiance and a sample of a protein drink. We made our way over to optical- I didn’t get to meet Kathy, but some other employees were helpful in assisting me. With my vision restored, I bought a hot dog, a lemonade, and an ice cream. Purchased my tires for my Wrangler 3 years ago at Costco. I’ve taken them in every 7-10,000 mile for rotation and balance. I’ve always had excellent service. My last appointment took 2 hours and 10 minutes. When I checked in they said it will be about an hour, check back then. I checked back at an hour and 15 minutes. The guy said they were working on it and he’d “come find you in the food court when it’s done.” I waited another hour went back up and a woman (who has always been really professional and nice) asked my name and said yes it’s done. I said “nobody called.” She looked at me and said “ that’s why we tell you to come check after an hour! I’ll go get your key.” When she came back I mentioned that I had come back up to check and the other man had told me that he would come get me in the food court.” She was frustrated I get that it’s winter and they are busy but she could have at least said , Oh I’m sorry that happened or what ever but being snippy doesn’t make me want to purchase more tires there, and I’m due! My appointment was at 230 I have no idea what time it was actually done but I went back up at 440.
