I have been a long time customer of Bayer's and I always gave rave reviews. Directed a lot of people to their fruit stand. Good prices and excellent fruits and veggies. This year has been dramatically different. My first visit this year was mid spring. Most of the produce was up to the same standards as years past but I did get a couple pieces of fruit that were inedible. No big deal, it happens. On my subsequent visits the quality continued to deteriorate. My last visit was last Friday. Wanted to get some good fruit for our holiday cookout. The watermelon was FANTASTIC. The cherries were delicious. The onions, 3 in a row were rotten in the center when cut open. The peaches were soft when purchased but when I got home to cut one open and enjoy, it was soft from rot, not ripe. I checked several more and they were not edible. Even the part of the peaches not dark brown was spongey and flavorless. I spent almost $100 on fruit and veggies and most of it was NOT up to quality. I will not be returning this year. While checking out my stuff I asked a couple questions about product availability and tried to make small talk, my wife did as well, and the woman ringing up our stuff acted as if we didn't exist. Called their number multiple times to ask these questions and they don't answer the phone. So reached out on their FB page and they were very rude and short. I was asking if they wash their eggs, they replied "we wash our eggs." Which to be honest in and of itself is weird. Have never had a local farm wash the bloom off of the eggs, this makes the eggs rot infinitely faster. There are plenty of other nearby farmers markets that have both great products and friendly welcoming staff. Read moreI went to this market to use my EBT card for 50% off. Not only did the younger female cashier make me feel uncomfortable about using the card in general. She was clearly annoyed and was complaining about the 50% off. When she told me my total I was confused but figured I would go back to the car and add everything up. I did not get the 50% off and when I asked they said that there's nothing they can do and I must of gotten the discount without knowing it. Even with a receipt showing I payed full price.
