I went to Drexel Food Town because it is late and it is the only grocery store open on this side of town after 8:00 PM. The store was reasonably clean and the prices were a little higher than you would see at the bigger stores. But what impressed me the most what's the music playing. I AM 60 years old and used to R&B and a little rap. I was not familiar with the rap artist that was playing over the speakers. When I got up to the checkout, lane 4, I asked the patron in front of me where do they do that at. The cashier rudely said “here”. They've got all the right necessities for a small store, and my trips are always simple and short because they are very well organized. I wish the produce selection were a little bigger, and some of the fruits in particular are too over-ripe, but it is what you would expect for the size of the place. Their check cashing service is fantastic, surprisingly open policy and very inexpensive. I'm the type of person that makes huge grocery trips once a month at a store with tons of selection for the necessities, and then little trips once a week or so for perishables. Foodtown is excellent for the once...
Read moreStaff was helpful. Love the already cooked $1.99 chicken in the frozen department. Love the couch of kool-aid. Love that they have Kentucky border bologna. Love that they have public restrooms. Love that they have faygo pop. Love that they have fresh fruit and veggies. Love that they have a wide array of sale items weekly. Love that they are so helpful to each other as well as to customers. Thank ful for their generosity at giving back to Drexel neighborhood. It's difficult I imagine keeping up with the big guys grocery but keep up the good work and folks like ne will keep driving 40plus miles one way to shop your store. Thanks again...
