I've been coming to this Tops for almost 2 years now with zero issues despite my card not agreeing with your POS devices, which was always mostly a non-issue because no associates have ever given me a problem with manually inputting my card when needed nor made me feel guilty or like IM a burden to them - until today.
The next time I come into this store to buy food for my family and your newest "manager" decides she wants to power trip and tell me what I can and can't buy and how I can and can't pay - I will NOT be as polite as I was today.
Let me make this abundantly clear for Ms. Lauren R: You will let me pay how I've been paying for YEARS, and you WILL speak to me with a respectful tone, because if you don't - not only will I drop the professional demeanor I've had towards your store for years, but I will plug your face into every corner of social media available to me - all 137k friends and followers both local and regional - and you won't do anything about it, because this is America and you work for a GROCERY STORE. YOU work for ME. YOU listen to ME. YOU are the service, I am the customer. YOU are beneath ME. That's capitalism baby, might want to get used to it.
Print this and put it on your wall if you have to, because next time I'm coming in with my phone recording. You're literally like 40 working at a grocery store - do you really think you're relevant or important enough to be treating people the way you...
Read moreThe 1 star is for my recent experience with an employee at the register this past Wednesday 12/16 afternoon while purchasing supplies for snow storm Gail. I had loaded up my little supplies onto the conveyor belt, when "Little Miss" snarled and asked while inspecting the prepackaged porkchop ribs if they were all one piece, I looked at her puzzled as I didn't understand what she was pertaining to. She proceeded to say "I AM MAKING SURE YOU'RE NOT STEALING ANYTHING!" My mouth dropped to the floor when she said that and looked at me blankly, like I should know because I've done it before. It was very uncomfortable and had I not been in a rush due to the storm that was brewing I would've asked for the manager and discussed the cashier's behaviour. I mean, I've shopped in this local store for 2 years, though we're not from here but the convenience they provide for a quick meal is great, only to be let down by an employee who isn't quite as professional as the rest of the cashiers in the store. I'd advise to have new employees take a class how things are prepared in the store, especially in the meat department. Once packaged, it is considered as "one item, unless specified." Truly...
Read moreNOT A CUSTOMER FRIENDLY STORE Be prepared they have started a self checkout. There is NO ONE TO HELP CHECKOUT IN THE MORNING. Such a bad idea when people have carts full or slight impairment and need some help. NOT A CUSTOMER FRIENDLY STORE. Prices are higher than other places but it’s the only place for miles so they have a captive customer base. They can mistreat customers and offer subpar products and still make out because when you need something you have to bite the bullet and live with it Really there are similar options up the street at Dollar General for better prices. And they still check you out and bag.
Tops Meat section is ridiculous. High prices for poorly cut limited selection. No seafood options Produce is not fresh seems to sit for days before offered on the shelf. Employees are rude and short tempered acting like you are a bother rather than where their check is coming from. Terrible terrible place to shop.
❌❌Here it is a year later and thought I’d give it another try Ha ha ha They can’t have someone to check you out but they can have somebody to watch you so you don’t steal...
