First time at this salon and MY HAIR IS RUINED! DAY ONE: I went in for a blonde Ombre, I showed a picture to the stylist and the owner and they discussed what to do but when they finished the color was far from it. I was there 5.5 hours when I was book for 3, my hair was damaged, had 3 different colors, the technique they used was something I never heard of and I was charge more then I was quoted. The next day I called and mention all my concerns and said I want it fixed! I was booked the next weekend. By this time I was getting worried so I emailed the picture hoping they would get some ideas on how to fix the color. I was wrong! DAY TWO: MY HAIR CAME OUT BRIGHT ORANGE AND LOOKED AS IF I HAD A STRAW HAT ON! By this time the stylist was lost with what to do with me so she called over another stylist for help (the owner wasn't there) and they but a color over it but couldn't tell me what color I was going to end up with and on top of it all I was going to be charged 145.00. Well I didn't pay it and I told them I wanted ALL my money back so I can go somewhere else. They claim to keep up with the latest styles and techniques but when I asked for my refund the OWNER said she should have told me the first day the color I was asking for was too advance and that there wasn't a stylist capable of handling it. She continued to say the last color they put on me works differently so there is no guarantee what color I will have since my hair is so porous, and they as stylist are not perfect. DAY THREE: I WENT BACK IN FOR MY REFUND AND I WAS TREATED LIKE CRAP; THEIR UGLY LOOKS AND SHORT WORDS MADE ME FEEL LIKE IT WAS MY FAULT THEY RUINED MY HAIR AND WHEN I SPOKE UP ABOUT IT I WAS CUT OFF AND TOLD THEY DIDNT WANT TO TALK ABOUT IT. At first sight they treated me nice and brought me coffee, the salon is nice and clean. They talk a big game on their website and lured me in, but I was fooled and now I have to pay for what...
Read moreNever coming back & wouldn’t recommend for blonding. This place wrecked my hair. I’ve had my hair done all over - Utah, California, Colorado, and Tucson. Sarah, the stylist, warned me when I got my hair done that she was suffering from a toothache and was getting a root canal, if she was quiet that was the reason. I had already sent her inspiration photos of ashy blonde with money pieces which I have gotten before many times. I noticed that the way she was doing it was very damaging, my hair is thick but fragile and breaks easily. After she took out the foils, she still didn’t have money pieces that I asked for. When I asked her to please lighten the areas around my face and to my roots for money pieces (as I showed in my inspo photos) she seemed a little irritated. She then slapped on bleach, which left extremely harsh lines. The end result was extremely yellow and harsh, not at all what I asked for.
I even showed pictures of my end result to another stylist that I trust (but was too busy to fit me in) and she urged me to ask for a full refund because it was not quality work for what I paid and also explained to me how damaged my hair was because of the harsh bleaching and foiling method.
When I explained to the owner I would like a partial refund and felt very awkward in the moment asking for a correction because my stylist had tooth pain and had already messed up my request when I asked a second time to give me money pieces, she was extremely rude over text. They did call and try to get me in before I left for my trip but I had absolutely no time in between packing and last minute planning. I was also told that the owner does not do hair so I don’t know how she would understand what a good quality salon is or not, or how to give satisfactory customer service.
I’ll drive 30min into downtown rather than waste my $350 here again for...
Read more"Beauty Is Salon" is a great and professional business. I've been using them for several years now. Maria is a great stylist and conversationalist. Jim is very professional and runs a great business. I have enjoyed every visit. The entire staff is warm and welcoming, and the business immaculate. Because of this, I gladly pay more for my simple man hair cut than I would at a "normal" barber. It's well worth it to me.
The review by "Tom Jones" is from an angry person who has not been to "Beauty Is Salon". That's not even his real name - even though he personally identified two people who were the target of his uncivil attacks on them on FB in order to publicly shame them while hiding his own identity. I saw the original conversational thread he used as an example. His depiction is not accurate. Jim's 2 very short comments were very professional, trying to help "Tom" understand what may be happening in order to reduce tensions. There was absolutely NOTHING unprofessional about Jim's few comments. "Tom's" multiple LONG retorts were very unprofessional, attacking Jim personally and disparaging his business with innuendo and libel. Within minutes of "Tom's" thread being deleted,, "Tom" came directly here and other places on the internet to get revenge for helpful advice on Facebook of all things, trying to unjustly damage the reputation of the owner - cancel...
