This pilot station scammed me. The self checkout froze on me, and I had completed my transaction but I waited for someone to come over so I could let them know it had frozen at the end of the transaction (it was about 30 minutes until someone helped and I had to ask for it even though 2/3 of the lights on top were blinking red). They told me I had to pay again because it didn't go through. I asked if the lady was sure, she told me yes, then proceeded to ignore me when I tried to tell her in more detail what had happened. Well I ended up getting charged twice so I went back in with my card, receipt and my mobile banking app pulled up. When I got back in there they acted like I was the one in the wrong and argued with me AFTER telling me that they will not do a refund and my bank and I will have to take care of their mistake. The argument was about how a bank can't refund money that has already been paid to the business. I visited this pilot today with the hope of refreshing myself during a long cross-country drive all the way from Maine. And despite being a cross country driver who owns a USDOT number and a long-haul business license, I was shocked to find out that their shower facilities are exclusively reserved for CDL drivers with heavier loads and was told that due to the lack of a CDL we were not considered "professional drivers." Though the gentleman who informed us of this extremely insensitive rule was very kind and we understand that may be very uncomfortable to tell someone, Pilot truly needs to reconsider this discriminatory policy that left us feeling unwelcome and inconvenienced. I gave it a four because there is one employee that is so rude the other employees are wonderful to me they know I'm homeless and treat me like everyone else,...with respect. We laugh and talk, they have washers and dryers there plus nice hot showers. The store is very clean.
