Do you want to gamble on this big money tour? BE AWARE IF YOU GET THE SEATS IN THE BACK RIGHT SIDE OF THE CHOPPER - YOU JUST BLEW YOUR MONEY!! We have just returned from our $1826 Australian dollar tour (2 people) The worst and most expensive tour I'm sure we will take in our lifetime
We had the first leg of 45 mins to canyon landing sitting at the back right hand side.(Now we know the pilot chose us to be the losers of the tour as the back row right side seats are worth $100 ) Wenhad no view of the strip, and the flight path out is along the flat edge of Vegas with no views from the right side (flat housing estates) Add full sun into the window from that side making any odd photo impossible. We could only see small pieces of lake mead thru the front screen between people and all the dramatic hills leading to the canyon landing are on the opposite side so don't get excited - get ready for 100% frustration at the tiny glimpses you get.
That's ok we thought - disappointing but we'll see it on way back.... WRONG When flying into the deep part of the canyon (which lasts only a couple of minutes so don't expect to actually be flying thru the canyon) - just before landing due to the angle we could not see up to the height of the rock forms with the roof blocking us, but the winners in the front and left seats hit the jackpot (for the same price that we paid) The canyon is visible front and left - but we could only see partial rock wall across the chopper between people (I gave my camera to a left side sitting passenger to ask them to get me a photo so we could see it) and again due to full sun no photos possible of the much less dramatic right side coming in . So our return trip .... all will be good - WRONG We rotated to the front seat but got just 10 short mins until landing for the fuel stop. WITH NO flight path back over the canyon!! A different flight path took us straight up and out of the canyon without going thru the canyon - We flew out with our back to the canyon. We got a couple of quick minutes viewing the rock wall directly in front of us, which was the same wall we had already seen and taken a photo of while on the ground - Then gone! ... The magnificent dream right there and we didn't experience it
IT GETS WORSE... or should I say more insulting.. Ok we land for fuel and rotation of seats again - Now in the Left side seats - the opposite side as our first back seat- WHAT DOES THIS MEAN ???? It resulted in our 35 min flight back had us sitting on the SAME SiDE of the valley (no view) now in both directions ! How is this fair or acceptable for the money paid!? Full sun and flat side exactly as we had the first leg. No lake no hills - just total 100% disappointment and 10000% frustration at what a bad customer experience this is for the 2 suckers paying full price and scoring the short straw on every tour. Why do Maverick rotate so that one couple get same full sun and flat land side flying both directions???? The rotation SHOULD OBVIOUSLY BE ABOUT THE View (surely??? ).They have the choice to rotate in the opposite direction allowing "us suckers" to actually get at least some view and enjoyment. Final message for Maverick: Your standard response to these reviews I read are quoting weight and safety - Our group rotated, so your "standard get out of jail reply of weight for safety seating doesn't cut it!)🥵 I'd like a logical reason why for $1826AUD we had the same (no view) side of the tour in both directions Was it Lance our pilots call on this? Someone needs to apologise (a sincere apology) for this as a totally unfair and inexplicable system.. We could have enjoyed a whole long weekend somewhere for this money! Other reviewers have said the same so there's NO doubt Maverick knows the back right seats are the "suckers seats" but charge full price anyway. Consider the gamble before booking. You may hit the jackpot or you may just feel like we do -We blew our money and have big regret. Enjoy our...
Read moreAn Unforgettable Experience with Maverick Helicopter Tours
Our recent adventure with Maverick Helicopter Tours at the Grand Canyon was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment we arrived, the entire experience was perfectly orchestrated, making this a once-in-a-lifetime journey that we will cherish forever.
The staff at Maverick were exceptionally courteous and informative. From check-in to the pre-flight briefing, they made us feel completely at ease, ensuring we were well-prepared and excited for what was to come. Their professionalism and attention to detail were evident from the start, setting the tone for an incredible day.
As for the helicopter itself, it was a marvel of modern technology. Spacious, comfortable, and impeccably maintained, it offered a level of comfort that exceeded our expectations. My family was particularly thrilled with the individual headsets provided for each of us. Not only did these allow us to communicate easily during the flight, but they also played a fantastic soundtrack of classic rock, adding an extra layer of enjoyment to our aerial journey. The music was the perfect accompaniment as we soared above one of the world’s most awe-inspiring landscapes.
Our pilot and tour guide were nothing short of phenomenal. Their extensive knowledge of the Grand Canyon and its history added so much depth to the experience. They were not only informative but also incredibly friendly and engaging, making sure everyone on board felt comfortable and captivated. Their enthusiasm was infectious, and it was clear that they were as passionate about the canyon as they were about providing us with an unforgettable experience.
The views of the Grand Canyon from the helicopter were simply breathtaking—something that could never be fully appreciated from the ground. Flying over the vast expanse of the canyon, with its towering cliffs and deep gorges, offered a perspective that was truly unparalleled. Maverick Helicopter Tours provided us with an exclusive vantage point that would not have been possible any other way.
In addition to the flight, Maverick offered us the opportunity to take photos of the helicopter, and they even provided professional photography services to commemorate our journey. These photos are now treasured keepsakes, capturing the magic of the day and the joy on our faces as we experienced the Grand Canyon from the sky.
In summary, Maverick Helicopter Tours delivers an exceptional experience from start to finish. The combination of a knowledgeable and friendly crew, state-of-the-art helicopters, and the stunning beauty of the Grand Canyon made this tour the highlight of our trip to Arizona. If you’re looking for a unique and unforgettable way to experience one of the world’s natural wonders, I cannot recommend Maverick Helicopter Tours highly enough. It’s an adventure you’ll...
Read moreExtremely frustrating experience at the front desk in the grand canyon airport office. We had booked a canyon spirit tour for 4 and the tour was cancelled last minute due to bad weather. That's totally understandable, it got cloudy and windy out of nowhere. All customers were called to the front desk to discuss refund/rescheduling. We stood in line at one of the counters and when it was our turn to ask about possible refund/rescheduling for the same day, the lady at the counter said the only option was the next day at 1.45 pm. Since we were heading out of Grand canyon early next morning, that wouldn't have worked and so we requested a refund which the lady was about to process. Here's where it got frustrating. A couple walks up to the adjacent counter and requests for a reschedule on the very next helicopter ride for the same day and their attendant tells them they have 6 spots left on the next ride!!! The other attendant asks our attendant to confirm they have 6 spots on the next ride and we see our attendant go silent with an expression similar to when your lie is caught, sort of indicating to the other attendant to not speak any more. I asked our attendant that if they had 6 slots on the next ride, why would she not tell us. She goes all dramatic and says we never asked about it, clearly lying because we obviously did. There's no way in the world that a customer whose ride has been cancelled would not ask for a reschedule on the very next available slot. Now she tells us they have 2 slots left on the next ride. I don't know how 6 slots out of which 2 were gone leaves just 2 slots, but whatever. I had my parents visiting me and we decided to get those 2 slots for them. She's rolling her eyes all this time which was very disrespectful. I tell her that if only she had told us about the 6 slots on the next ride, we would've gotten 4 of those right away before we found out about it from the customers on the next counter who got there after us. This seemed to agitate her even more because now she tells us she'll have to split the 2 seats we requested on 2 different helicopters to balance weight on the rides. At that point, we just lost it and asked her to cancel and refund our money. To her credit, she promptly cancelled the entire itinerary and issued a refund. This is no way to treat your customers. Maverick needs to invest in training their representatives on how to behave with customers and get employees with the right attitude for the service industry. Very dissatisfied with the...
