Independent Meat Co — Local services in Twin Falls

Was a Butcher for years and slowly started to see a decline in Falls Brand products. I've not cut meat for a few years but ordered some of their Center Cut Bulk Bacon in the 15lb. box and it went moldy in under 2 weeks. Moldy in places that no bacteria from me packaging it was introduced. This stuff happens, but worse, I called my old sales rep to ask and in the past these type of complaints were always handled well, this time I was told that I was expected to eat the cost and was SoL. For YEARS I sold cases of their Circle I(one step below the product I purchased, not quite good enough for their 1# Vacuum packs) and not once had a package go that bad, that fast, it was about 50% covered in mold and had a very foul smell. Once again, i understand these things happen, but how it was handled was the true sign that Falls Brand is on the decline. I've had issues now with their hams getting progressively worse for years as well, going from a nice appetizing pink, to a pale washed out champagne pink. Also, A HUGE problem with their 2# Wieners and Franks puffing up almost instantly(from bacteria inside the vacuum seal), an observation shared by the butcher friends still cutting meat. The bulk breakfast sausage I ordered was extremely mild, my assumption being that the same champagne pink pork is becoming more prevalent, the recipe claims to be the same.

Once again, horrid customer service, was made to feel it was my fault. As a Master Butcher I know exactly how to avoid stuff like this, and know the shelf life I was able to expect from this bulk 15# Bacon, always before I was given a refund or partial credit even. Some attempt was made to make it right, not this time, the exact opposite.
