Gowan's is one of our favorite road trip stops on the way to the Mendocino coast. They have a small barn where they sell apple cider, apples, a varying selection of dried fruits and nuts and seasonal produce such as pumpkins. They have a grassy space, shaded by oak trees that has three swings for the kids to enjoy and it is conveniently located right next to the restrooms. So the kids can have a nice swing and a stretch and everyone can use the facilities. I'm grateful every time I come here because it is one of the few places where we can stop and have ready access to a restroom.    Read moreI've been stopping here since I was a kid, every family trip out to the coast. I love that the stand is still there and operating today. The man behind the counter was extremely kind and personable. He answered questions and shared samples, he was happy to chat. The apple cider is amazing, love the honey, and the jam. Cherries were ripe and sweet, and so were the strawberries. I walked away with a haul, which the gentleman kindly packed into a box for me.
