Save A Lot — Local services in Union City

The recent news of cadaver dogs hitting on over 20 spots on the former property of beloved Sav-a-lot founder and serial killer, Herb Bauermeister, led me to take a trip to my nearest store. I was pleased with the produce! It's December in Indiana and I'm loaded up on more fresh fruits and veggies than I imagined would be available at a discount store chain. Bulk items, large variety of foods, solid meat department, many international brands, and good selection of frozen foods. The atmosphere of fluorescent lighting and full shelves was enhanced by 2 young workers hustling and lightheartedly grunting to indicate who was lifting the most cans at a time. They were clearly making the best of their day and made short work of the pallet of green beans, carrots, peas, and corn. Overall great experience. 10/10 would recommend. As for Ol' Herb, he offed himself back in 1996, so I doubt he had much to do with today's...

Would not recommend this store to anyone. If it’s the only thing open for hundreds of miles, I’ll drive across the country. The staff is friendly which is nice I guess…I just want to get my stuff and leave if I do ever find myself having to go there. I can’t recall the number of times I’ve purchased bread there in the lowest and it’s been moldy and had holes chewed in it from mice. Apparently they keep a cat in the back and let it out when they close so it can take care of the mice. Don’t know if that’s true or not but if it is, it’s disgusting and the cat needs fired because it’s doing a horrible job…hope they aren’t paying it. Their prices are horrible and their meat is almost always a couple days way from expiring. Many times I’ve seen meat set out that had a new sticker slapped on it with a new best by date to cover up the expired one. It’s best to...

They trifling in this location. We purchased some cook out things for memorial day. Meat, buns, sausages, hotdogs... Let me tell you about these hot dog buns... They had mouse droppings in the bags.... THEN WHEN WE RETURN TO TAKE THEM BACK... The woman helping us gon say oh we have mice that's been a problem for a while...🥴🥴🫡😤😤👀👀👀👀🤮🤮🤮 WHAT!?!! A WHILE????
