Salon 74 — Local services in Union Township

Okay, I really didn't know how I was going to properly give this salon the praise it deserves; I was going to make it short and sweet, but after seeing only THREE REVIEWS?! (How...) I'll give you guys my lengthened opinion.

First of all: the hair. I had my hair colored and cut by Samantha, one of the owners of the salon. I came in with box dyed RED hair. And I was aiming to go back to my natural strawberry blond. Samantha had me come in a week before the coloring for a CPR (color lift). A week later, I returned for the dye. Samantha carved 5 hours out of her day to make sure my hair was done properly. Anyone who is familiar with hair knows that going red to blond is a difficult task, but it's one she took on anyways. Let me just tell you guys.. WOW. I could not have achieved a more beautiful hair color anywhere else. I have recieved a plethora of compliments on it. It's a beautiful light blond streaked with a lovely red, and it is to die for. She took her time, did the job right. Samantha constantly checked to make sure I was comfortable and didnt want for anything. Shes been doing my mothers hair for years, and I can see why. She is knowledgeable about her craft. As a 24 year old tomboy, I'm pretty ignorant when it comes to hair. She never seemedaggravated, even encouraged questions and answered them thoroughly. Did I mention how BEAUTIFUL my hair came out?

Now, for the important, but not as important as the actual hair parts. The store was immaculate, not reeking of fumes in the least. Every woman working there was pleasant to be around, and never once made me feel out of place. You can talk, not talk, they will roll with it and still make you feel welcome. (I'm not much of a talker, and samantha seemed to be just fine with that)

The prices are good. If you want quality, your going to pay for quality, just like a tattoo. But I would have forked over 300 dollars easy PEASY if I'd have known this would be the end result. I mean seriously. These girls know what they're doing..

I will never let anyone else touch my hair. I highly recommend this...

I was going to Toni for year's for my daughter and myself and was with her while she was at the mall way before going off on her own!!!! My point is I messaged her to set up appointments for myself and my daughter and she blocked me, so my daughter messaged and she was blocked. No reason on why,,, so that right there was a childish unprofessional childish thing to do!!! And remind you I was going there and taking my daughter for year's and it was not just no cuts all hair colors too. So I guess if you use this place I wouldn't go to someone that drops you when she got on her own with no reasoning at all. Toni unblock me be a woman and tell me what the problem was that you don't want to do myself, Nina's or my oldest daughter's hair I've gave you a lot of business for year's but your ridiculous So people if you don't want someone that acts better than you because she's went a little higher on her own and completely blocks you DON'T USE TONI SHE PLAYED BY THE RULES WHEN IN THE MALL AND PRETENDED LIKE SHE WAS OUR FRIEND...

I've been a client of Salon 74 co-owner Angela Lauders for more than 15 years. She's fantastic with all types and lengths of hair, but I especially appreciate that she does short hairstyles well, since not all hair stylists are talented at short do's. She's also a master colorist (I've run the spectrum of both reds and blonde). Red hair is particularly hard to do well, but Angie gets it right every time. I actually became a client of Angie's in the first place because, after requesting an all-over color of red, a stylist at another salon turned my hair orange, then when attempting to fix it, turned it purple! I turned to Angie to fix it, and have been with her ever since! She remembers both my cut and color preferences each time I return, which I find both professional and makes me feel that she values me as a client. She's also a warm and personable person and a good conversationalist while you're in the chair. Highly...
