When we drove up to the entrance booth we asked if the 20.00 general admission was per car or per person. We were told very nicely it was per person with that being said we opted not to attend. We asked the booth worker if we could back up to leave and she said it did not seem like a problem since there was no one behind us. We proceeded to put the car in reverse when out of no where a woman who we assumed working there began to yell yes yell at us . You cant do that! We told her what had been told by us and she continued to raise her voice at us that we could not back up, with no nice instructions on how to get out. First of all the set up was awful, all she had to say was move forward go around and we will lift the cones and get you out. I guess they never worked on an exit plan would they think that everyone that came would pay 20 dollars per person. We moved forward and followed the exit signs for about 1.5 miles. There is no way I would pay 20pp just to enter plus cost of food and drinks etc for local fair which they moved up on the calendar to attract more tourists. Tourists beware of this money pit with rude workers. Will NEVER be back and I will tell anybody that asks me about this fair not to waste your money, you wil be in for a...

I have grown up going to the Union Fair and it has always been a fun place to go. Although after going for 100 years, it will feel the same and pretty much is, it is still fun to get some fair food and play fun games. I personally don't see anything special about this fair when looking at others but one thing that does stand out is the local people have lots of passion for being there and can well educate you if you ask. The locals are really friendly and can put on some interesting events. One time that stood out to me when I was younger was when they were having tractor races. Now at first this sounds pretty boring but they have tractors that would reach up to a decent speed. So my predicament is that the races weren't around the actual track they have at the fair grounds but some make shift thing that they use for the races and demo derby. It was still fun to see tractors go fast however it was in a smaller area and I think we all can agree it would be more fun to see them go on a...

One of the best fairs in Maine!! Incredible Blueberry products for sale. The K-9 show was interesting. Children's Pie Eating Contest was fun to watch. You need to go every day to see everything. The Blueberry Hut had some great food. The Exhibit Barns were fun! The Carnival Rides were fun for the kids and they have it set up so it doesn't take away from the small town feel of the fair. In fact it helps it! You think it's here 365 days a year and not just 5 days with the way it's set up. Loved all of the Tractors on Display. We watched the Thunder Valley Lawnmower Races. I never thought a Lawnmower could go so fast! The Moxie Soda was good and we ended up purchasing some for the trip home. Also checked out Blueberry Acres that had many cool items for sale. If you have to pick one fair to go to while on Vacation in Maine I would say go to this one. They have some friendly people here in Union. So glad we found this on our Maine Vacation....

This is my prize collection of the fair. It is a yearly event you will not want to miss. The Blueberry Contest is one of the best I have been too. They offer livestock and a petting zoo. A local Crafts Section you will not want to miss. The rides are sure to keep the kids busy. They have a great Blueberry Contest you do not want to miss. Pictures will tell my story of my time here and you do not want to miss it! So here you go!

The wild blueberry festival brought us the union fair. It definitely is a bit more agriculturally focused then I expected. Also very few fresh fruit stands! More like a county fair then a blueberry festival imo. Grounds were kept nicely and the plumbed bathrooms were ideal! Did get some cute stuff and enjoyed our time.

Lots of good food and vendors. The 4-H animal exhibit was massive and we got to see a lot of beautiful, award winning livestock. We had a lot of fun participating in the carrot cake contest. Only complaint is that the rides seem old and creaky--fun to ride but not good for peace of mind
