I prefer to shop locally and would like to be able to do that despite the pandemic. Mac's makes that very difficult, given its current policy of posting "MASKS RECOMMENDED" on its doors. Masking is not a recommendation; it's a mandate based upon science to attempt to slow the spread of Covid-19. Saying that masks are recommended rather than required is an attempt to placate all customers, but in reality it jeopardizes the well-being of all customers and the staff at Mac's, whom I've always found to be extremely helpful to me as a customer and whose health I respect. This is not something you can half do. Obviously, failing to mask is increasing the spread of Covid, a potentially lethal disease. You either follow the mandate or you ignore it.
